Load Test

In preparation for tomorrow's scrimmage, we're trying to test the load on our BF2142 server to make sure things are running smoothly. The play count is up to 62/64, so please jump in and take a look.

If you notice any problems (or even if you notice a lack of problems) please let me know here. We can probably get the other team to provide a server if there are consistent problems.

Re: Load Test

I experienced a few instances of latency with approximately 60 to 62 players, but nothing that would be considered extreme or a real problem.

Re: Load Test

Last night I had occasional rubberbanding on verdun but that was around the flag with 5 squads 3 walkers and 3 tanks a gunship and a troop transport all in the same space at the same time. I think we were playing 52 player later in the evening at carebear, berlin and tunis and it was running very smooth. That was around 1:00am EST.

Re: Load Test

Whenever an orbital dropped near me earlier, I would start to rubber band some. Didn't happen all the time, just when there was a collection of players and the orbital.

Re: Load Test

Minor issues with rubberbanding and lag, very intermittent. Nothing to be REAL concerned with though.

Re: Load Test

Did any changes include turning off Battle Recorder? I had a round on the conquest server I wanted to download but no rounds are listed for today.

The round was today 7/21 at some time around 2:00 PM CST (the round ended right at 2:20 or so).

Re: Load Test

I'm pretty sure BR has been turned off for awhile now.

Correct. We are intending to put it back on, but we want to make sure the lag we were experiencing around the start of July is gone.

Re: Load Test

Overall lag isn't bad but at least once a map (ie: once every two rounds) for a few minutes the game lags so bad it's unplayable.

Re: Load Test

I don't know where the server is, but I'm in Canada (look to the left below my avatar) and I've experienced no lag whatsoever. I played with 60+ people on Saturday between 10AM and 4PM EST. Even during airstrikes and the like -- absolutely nothing. My ping is at a constant between 40 and 60 and I love it. Favourite server and an awesome ping -- what more could a fella ask for?

Re: Load Test

I noticed quite a bit of lag. It was pretty much constant but ranged from hardly noticable to quite bad. I would shoot at someone and they would stay "alive" for an extra second too long then instantly teleport into a dead position. I would try to revive someone and there would be a second or 2 of delay, no animation whatsoever and they would be alive again.

I noticed some bizarre things when I rocket strafed, the rockets would initially go way off course then a second later correct themselves which made them curve back to their original target like some sort of heat seeking missles.

Each time I experienced the bad lag I asked my squadmates if they were getting it too, they said yes. It felt completely different than client side lag though so there was no surprise there.

Re: Load Test

yesterday late night was quite bad lag - but that might be from the server beeing up for too long maybe

Re: Load Test

It was laggy but playable (atleast for me), not as bad as the June/July lag

Re: Load Test

Experienced pretty much the same thing as everyone else. Stayed for a round of Belgrade post-midnight to see if the server could do it for the scrim.

Thankfully, I don't remember experiencing any lag whatsoever on that map, so hopefully we're golden.
