What can we do about the empty server?
Im posting this because almost everytime i play insurgency the server is empty. is there ANYTHING we can do to get the server more populated. i get on the server for hrs at a time and sit there alone waiting for people to join, but they havent ever joined so far. I think we should have certian times that someone can set that people will go and play. im also very interested in captain games. im just bored out of my mind and anything that can increase the use of the server would really be great.
Maybe taking off the password in the evening would be great. i know it is automatic, but when there is noone on but me, maybe the password is inhibiting some people from joining. |

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
Can we maybe get a frontpage article going?
This game has more potential (I think) than CS or BF2. All of the firefights even on pub servers are AMAZING, filled with teamwork, and realistically hard. This game belongs at TG, so we really need to build a solid base for this.

Srsly. >.> Monkey and I have played a few rounds now and on Push maps, it's death = loss of objective.. as it takes 15 seconds to respawn, and 15 seconds to get there. Once you've lost it, it's gone. Battle maps is just a trade game until someone dies.. then the round is over.

I've been sucked into ArmA...but with TacticalGamer teaming up with the creators of Insurgency, I feel it's important to ensure a server presence. I'll make it a point to populate the server more.

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
2wisted has a good point. when the server has 2 or less people per team, push maps become way easier for the advancing side as they only have to kill 2 or less guys at relatively the same time to win each obj. Makes the defending team kinda screwed.
In battle maps we kept missing each other intill someone killed the other. i think we switched about 4 times. Without ALOT more people, tactics are going to be harder to do. |

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
I honestly am kinda lost in the game. When I fell into TGNS I quickly was guided by more experienced players. I jump into Insurgency and nobodys there. A game that revolves around teamwork just doesn't work with small teams.
It'd be kinda cool to orchestrate a Intro game, to take it slow and accept everyone as a first timer and teach them the ins and outs of the game. I'm honestly kinda lost ![]()

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
I am gonna start showing up a little more.
I have been really busy lately admining both the BF2 PR server and the CS:S server. But things are starting wind down a little and I will start becoming more active in the Insurgency mod. But you guys wait, there are some BIG things going on behind the scenes as we speak. If vulcan would care to elaborate ![]()

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
I noticed Paster sends an invite to fill the server when he plays. I think that is awesome! Thanks Paster. When I see a few people on I think I will do the same. Also guys this is very good concern for beta. When this game is bug free the server will be full just like CSS or even more.
Just keep a close watch on the forums. Also maybe post all the bugs and ideas to help the game along. Im sure Spearin and his crew would like ideas to help this already successful Mod.

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
The low player count is huge, but I also noticed a lack of listening. I was in for a 4v4-average match on Baghdad, and I noticed:
• I and one other were the only ones on vox. • My teammates weren't thinking about how to advance on a properly locked-down street. I.E., no one tossed any 203 behind the sandbags, no one but myself seemed to remember the sidestreet gets you into the stripmall, and no one was moving with a buddy... just one at a time feeding the Ts. • Waiting on the mapchange was tiresome. I aforementioned having some sort of on-the-hour "lobby" time for people to hop in and see if they can get a group together. I can't think of much else, other than some sort of IM/messenger type system. Xfire clan functionality perhaps?

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
First off,
Hello! I'm new here and only just recently signed up on the TG forums, after looking for something more fulfilling than the average "Frag-Fest". I still have some kinks to iron out with my cheap mic and VOX settings, but getting there. I have already joined the server once, and played with a couple of you, and while only limited in numbers, found it enjoyable. I get good latency and the server modifications are as stable as any other server based amendments, but is still empty 90% of the time I am around to observe, (Most evenings 19:00 23:00 GMT) even when the server is not locked. Insurgency has got me hook, line, & sinker, and I plan to stay the full course (minus any RL entanglements) I also have an Xfire account and is registered same my forum profile: acacios. (Although I do not seem to have permission to display my mini-profile here.) Anyway I look periodically at the TG server when I'm online and switching/looking for a new server. So when more than 4 peeps are in I shall endeavour to jump in and join the fray. Acacios |

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
I like Magnas idea of checking the server at certain times each day (on the hour for 5 or 10 minutes). How about we combine that with the "Steam Friends" functionality that Steam offers. Every hour on the hour you can send a message to all TG INS players asking them to join the server to get it populated.
Whadaya fink?

Re: What can we do about the empty server?
There are quite a few with major issues in the game. They can be crashing, FPS, constant connection issues and the general bugs of the game at the moment. Just have to wait for things to get ironed out. Most of us here at TG are spoiled gamers in that we expect very high quality servers and almost 0 problems.
