Intel Q3 CPU price drops

List of CPUs and vendors

Core 2 Duo E6750 for under $200, or how about the Core 2 Quad Q6600 for under $300. Just amazing how much power you can get for cheap now.

What is faster/better: The q6600 (1066 fsb) or the new 1333 fsb chips?

That would mean by the time next summer rolls around, I should be able to afford a quad-core for the price of a dual-core now. Thanks for post this fallen!

I saw some benchmarks on Tom's Hardware. The Q6600 and the E6850 are quite close in gaming performance. It's only a difference of a few FPS, maybe more. Sometimes the quad-core was faster, sometimes the high-speed dual-core.

There might be a larger difference with well-written multi-threaded applications but the benchmarks showed that the E6850 was also better or at least on par with the Q6600.

FYI: The E6850 has been priced a few dollars higher than the Q6600.
