CO report Kashan desert friday 27 July
Amazing round on Kashan tonight, thanks to all players involved. The game ended in an unbelievable 14-0 score in my team's favor. (MEC) To play that long and hard, and to come so close in the end...
The game started miserably. I went co. I got my officer kit, and someone stole it, forcing me to order someone to execute me. Got officer, had to set out on foot to the main flag of the mec, some minutes away. But if I get there I'll have no engineer... On the loooong walk, in the middle of nowhere, low and behold, an engineer crosses my path. Quickly I type to him, pleading, to help me out. He stops, I run on, screaming follow me. He follows a few meters, then decides to continue his trip through the middle of nowhere, instead of helping me. A true bf2 moment. Surprisingly, as I walked to the flag, a very friendly guy (don't remember the name unfortunately squad 7) made a co squad. After getting up a bunker and fire-base the team is moving on the central flags, with the US having the upper hand as they gave got flags in the center already but we have none. Then the fun started. The air squad was fully up with a frogfoot, two fighters most of the time. It was the first time I had a fully functioning airs-quad, and it was a treat! They hit targets everywhere, and won me the support of the whole team, because they suddenly realized I could help them out with sheer destruction. It was amazing the planes stayed up so long too. The very best was when I had two squads attacking south bunker from a co truck, and got them (gj) to only attack through the roof, as I instructed the Frogfoot airplane to hit the front of the bunker, from a direction so that he could shoot inside. I was truly amazed. I was on the ground during in that attack from my truck, and saw the bomber come flying in as instructed, firing at the target and inside the bunker, as trail of infantry was attacking topside. I managed to snap these two pictures right at that time. The settings are low, but the adrenaline sure was high. You see the frogfoot (warehouse I believe) come in low from the NW. At the same time, the fighter that was truly his wingman is engaging a BH under my specific orders. Info going bottom->up->bottom with this result in about 30 seconds. The infantry moving up on my right to the top of that bunker are out of view. ![]() Resulting in: ![]() As the round progressed, we lost air support for a while. We lost the central flags too long, and had to pull back to village and mec outpost. Unfortunately we were a bit slow, and some squads left captured flags prematurely. With about a 200-150 ticket lead we were down to two flags and bleeding. A sure victory had been somehow squandered, and I lost morale, and sent some squads back still to divide them over both flags. As I sat there with nothing to do (co truck blown up), my frustration changed into an awful agony as I watched the end unfold. After this many-hour game, CO-ing the whole time, the bleed had stopped and both teams were a little above 50. I Tried to get morale up a little bit, by thanking squads and stuff, and asked on voip and in chat "EVERYONE PLZ TRY AND STAY ALIVE". Slowly but surely, holding both flags grey the difference in tickets went our way, as it was raining good games on both sides of the desert. I want to congratulate Tim AFsoccer, who previously called me an idiot when I was his co. He was the enemy CO in this great match. I appreciate that he takes the seat himself thinks he can do better. I sure hope someone can fill in on how the battle went on their side. Before I forget thanks to the grunts and their squad-leaders on the ground who did the hard work. Plz If you read this and you enjoyed this round, post and share some good moment or a screen.

Re: CO report Kashan desert friday 27 July
I had so much fun on that map Al, that I could go so far to say that Kashan Desert might be my new favorite map! (...ok, maybe not, but it sure was fun.)
Highlights from the MEC jet pilots squad include having 4 capable pilots & a squad leader on the ground as a forward observer in a mobile AA vehicle. It seems every time a mig took off, it was followed 2 minutes later by a "/F-16 down" or "/A-10 down. I know xpert.PENN had 3 confirmed F16 kills, and our other pilot (hipcraka?) saved my neck 2 times when my frogfoot was getting tailed by a F16 or A10. Our SL M.Warren also chipped in with 2 enemy jet kills from the ground in his mobile quad. From the bomber seat in the frogfoot, I have to say it was one of those rounds you wish would never end. All enemy jets were grounded quickly by friendly migs or ground AA. I shot down an enemy A-10 within minutes of my first take-off, and there was armor to bomb on every dive. We had great communication from the CO and our SL, sending very accurate bombing orders to my jet. 2 particular bombing runs stand out: After US forces had captured the bunker AL had referred to, I strafed first with 60 rockets, and I came around for a second bombing run with my last laser-guided bomb armed. I flew in very low to the ground, around 70m and got a heat lock in the very back of the bunker. My bomb soared off as I pulled up and I could just barely see it go right into the back of the bunker striking an enemy APC and killing 6 infantry. Later in the match US had greyed-out the tiny west outpost north of mec base, and CO ordered a quick bombing run on the flag before it flipped to usa. Having just re-armed at main base I climbed well above the clouds to an altitude of 1500+m. Using my SL's attack marker as a guide, I climbed completely vertical of the flag before dropping straight down above it through the clouds. I released 2 bombs on the flag, dead center, switched to rockets and released a volley of 30 with cannon fire. As I pulled out of my dive I checked my kill score and it was +14 on the single bombing run. The final best run was a scramble when a Mig pilot reported mobile AA lock on his jet to the North West of bunker flags. On my first fly by, I scouted 3 armor heat locks hidden behind a hill crest which I was able to mark with a (?) question mark before dodging what turned out to be TWO mobile AA vehicles and a tank huddled close together. My SL was able to place a move order to my spot, and I proceeded to climb well above the clouds in order to dive on the targets from a better angle. Using the west edge of the map, I came in behind the targets, and by the time they heard me, it was much too late. I fired 2 laser guided bombs at the first mobile aa from long range, followed by 2 more at the second AA, killing both targets from a long distance. I had enough time to fire my main cannon at the tank, softening him before releasing a bomb that destroyed him. /slash 500mill for USA. With 60+ kills and 200 tickets left, my air-time was later cut short by a very cunning F16 pilot who somehow was able to ghost behind me with his radar off, hitting my frogfoot with his first attempted machine gun rounds. My bomber burst into flames and exploded before I even knew hit me. From the death-cam I got to watch my assailant fly off into the clouds, stealing what could have been a record game.

Just a general remark: Like 3 out of 5 SL's were giving me reports from the ground, asking for help and stuff. If you want a good CO, this is your duty. He totally depends on you for all his info, so YOU GET THE CO YOU DESERVE (if he has voip ).PLZ confirm this!!!: I think when you are CO, and you select all squads, only then can you see all their spots on the map. I think only if the squad is selected on your CO map, you can see what they are spotting, even if it is far away from you but close enough to them. Please test this if you co and post here, because it could be a good help if it worked.

Wish I was there
.I also had my best ever CO-round on Kashan, with a dedicated AIR squad and SL 's communicating and following orders to the point. This map really is an example of how gameplay depends on the players, not the game. |

Re: CO report Kashan desert friday 27 July
Shouldermount AA is now my kit of choice on Kashan, quite often. I've shot down probably 5-7 jets in about 3 entire rounds. While boring, if I'm with somebody to talk to, its not bad

y the way - Warehouse - I got the battlerecorder file of that round, pretty amazing stuff following you around. You really mastered that frogfoot, hitting rockets from insane distances, and generally missing very little. It is a blast to put the cam on your target, and get an idea of what hell may be like .If anyone wants this file, Pm me. I'll have to put it somewhere first then since it is 150+Mb. It sure would do for an excellent video. Perhaps I'll make it one day, especially the bomb flying into the bunker.

Re: CO report Kashan desert friday 27 July
Sure, but all I ever see us play is the 32-player version, not the 64. Why?

Re: CO report Kashan desert friday 27 July
I can feel that, but it would be nice if we can slip in the 64-player one every so often, just for some flavor.
