Losing Connection

I am not sure why but I keep losing my connection with the server. I tried completely uninstalling BF2 and POE and that didn't work. It doesn't give any more info than the standard, Your connection to the server has been lost. Any suggestions? I am going to try running it with my firewall completely off. I don't know what else to do.

What version did BF2 deluxe come with? Even if it came with 1.41 try installing the anyway.
I downloaded and installed the update before POE.

Try running BF2.exe in compatibility mode if your running Vista, was it doing it with the ATI control panel AI enabled?
I run XP pro, not sure about it happening before the AI was disabled, but I tried updating the PBsetup again on the new install, so I am going to try that change before I make another.

I'm fairly sure I am covered, as I get kicked at times when the server only has 20 or so on. I also don't seemed to get kicked when the server is full or denied entry.

No, it installs into the same path.

Yea, I tried this on the fresh install, let you know tonight how that goes.

EA also suggests attempting a reset of your Network connection:
Click on Start and then Run.
In the Open box, type in: winipcfg
Click "Ok"
When the Windows IP Configuration box comes up, Click "Release".
Then Click "Renew"
Then close the Windows IP Configuration box

I'm running out of suggestions
I'm scratching my head also. Hopefully the new PB stuff fixes it on this install.

Thanks for all the help G--man, I really appreciate it. I probably would have thrown this box out the door by now without the help of the TG community.

Yep, I am going to try playing normally tonight and then if I drop, I'll turn the firewall and antivirus off completely.

Going to need help with this one. I'm sure I have seen this before but I don't remember where.

Nope, wish I was though. Its a pain having to swap the 2142 and BF2 cds back and forth.

Is that the 3GB enabler program? If so, I did, but it was causing a MD5tool mismatch (len=2028) error. I put the backup in and that problem went away. The drops did occure before the use of the 3GB enabler. I used it as a possible solution.
