Fallen 08-09-07

We just had another good, well-fought "Fallen" fight, with our Ukes eking out a 4-0 win. I want to thank squad-mates MMichelli1, Terranova7, LennyMFD, the Double-Tagged Serious Turtle, and Drizzid of the 12th. It was good to see Finestyle of the 1stMIP in-game, too, and congrats to 9mmATX on a fine round...

Anyway, the round went on for some time with the Ukrainians holding a 15 point lead (plus or minus.) We were doing a good job of absorbing the attacks and funneling the other team as they came in, keeping the ticket count going in our favor, while maintaining a flag apiece, for the most part.

Then something happened, and it was pretty much my fault, as I remember pretty clearly the time I died on a flag defend at the trenches and we couldn't get it recapped before the Ukes capped it. (There are times, especially on "Fallen," when I tend to get into the fight a little too much. This is fine as an SM, but as an SL, I have to cool it. I am working on it, and I think I keep a good balance, but I get burned sometimes...)

This gave the Germans 2 flags and they earned themselves a 30 point lead out of this, and we had to earn it back. From my point of view, we did this by doing the little things: pushing in on the flag with a point, pulling back if it got too hot. Holding fire on a target till he went down and after. Tracking the medics. Getting the revives (though we weren't smoking a whole lot, we were effective at it.) Our squad started dancing around the crash sight, capping it, and defending well along the Northern river with some nice firing lanes. Our other squads capped the trenches, and we rode a 10 point lead almost into the ground, but we got it done. Like I said to the guys, I hate to lose "Fallen." Thanks to everyone for a nicely-matched, tense round of my favorite map...

Khaerus, you run a fine squad and would join it again if I have the opportunity. I think you are being a bit too picky about your squad leading, every squad leader makes a mistake or two which isn't the problem it's how you adjust to those mistakes is what makes a good SL'er. You gave very concise orders and you had a constant situational awareness that you passed onto your squad. I would say you were more responsible for the 4 ticket win! My voip wasn't working so I have to apologize for that but it was a pleasure serving in your squad.
