Basic POE Infantry tips
Very basic POE tips for infantry. It's best watched if you download it. Filefront has too much white border and Berezne is a dark map.

Re: Basic POE Infantry tips
Wait. I'm confused about the sniper fire part. Were you talking about the red guy or the blue guy? I've always heard from the knowledgeable guys that you should run PERPENDICULAR to sniper fire. Parallel seems like a bad idea. Please clarify why.

Re: Basic POE Infantry tips
Pretty impressive...looks like you've copied my moves Lucky....:P
These tips mostly refers to a lone wolf though...in most cases you might have a fire team of 2-3 to take them out behind the enemy lines... Nice vid..... |

Re: Basic POE Infantry tips
The video does show a single infantry play as it's only really to show real basic tips, such as cover and concealment, how to flank, etc... Any gaps though that you see in the video (there are plenty) I encourage others to make subsequent videos. This is the way we all get better.

Re: Basic POE Infantry tips
Loved the vid, might as well get some tips out there too that I've picked up watching people play. If I could make a vid trust me I would. If I had the time I might as well download BR recordings and watch from santa or mantis' point of view XD
1) MOVE TOGETHER. buddy up. spend some quality 'alone' time with that squadmate you've been eyeing for a while. maybe you guys can watch each other's backs while... having some fun. If squad leader says defend, or stay put, and you're the only guy rushing out to attack, you're just going to die and not get revived cause your medic listened to orders and stayed with the squad. When attacking, rush in only if you need to keep up the pressure since the rest of your squadmates are still on the flag. If everyone's dead, stay put so you guys can all stay alive and circle around to mount another offensive with more people. 2) SMOKE bane's favorite word. to expand on it a little: I prefer to use it when attacking a flag only or for going for revives; also, when you use it, try not to run THROUGH the smoke, cause that's like saying 'HEY DEFENDING GUYZ LOOK AT THIS DRAMATIC BIG PUFF OF SMOKE THAT JUST APPEARED OK WATCH CAREFULLY ARE YOU WATCHING CAUSE TA-DA I JUST APPEARED THROUGH IT LIKE MAGIX!' use it as a smokescreen instead and run AROUND it so you can cover your movements. If you're lucky you'll get to the next bit of cover, especially if the rest of your squad helps out. graphics lag for the enemy helps too. If you're a medic, SMOKE dead bodies. 15 seconds is a pretty long time. If it's the squad leader, have him/her count off the seconds while you scan for enemies or smoke his/her body. Otherwise that sniper is going to have a field day with headshots.3) against armor: if there's a lone armor (or snipers) camping you while defending a flag, HIDE. if tickets matter a lot (like in a close game), it's not worth it to charge out into the open to take them down, especially alone. more likely you'll get taken down and if I were a medic I wouldn't want to run out and get you up with a tank staring at me. even with smoke, the splash from a tank round or the hit indicators will help the armor take you both out. If armor's nearby, you're AT, sometimes throwing down mines may be more effective than shooting rockets, especially if you don't want to give away your position and there's not a lot of room to maneuver (ie, near a flag, next to buildings) When you're attacked and you spawn in, GET THOSE MINES DOWN. A lot of us are scared of mining roads cause of teamkills but when under attack and in danger of losing the flag random mines will be a huge headache for armor. 4) SPOT AWAY. If you have a mic, talk. It makes squad leaders like me feel less awkward. If you dont have a mic or are too stuck up to talk to the rest of us jabbering fools then use the commo rose. Now that text messages are gone spam away. afraid of people getting annoyed by the voiceovers? They dont know it's you who's causing them anyway. Maybe they'll think it's that noob commander. In the meantime you probably saved your squad's flag cause they noticed that full squad circling around behind. 5) single shot works on some guns, not on others. mg36, glue your finger to the mouse button. rpk74, single shot and snipe. if you're nowhere near a flag, single shot. if you know an enemy might pop out behind a corner, make sure you're on auto. MAKE SURE YOU'RE ON AUTO BEFORE YOU RUSH A FLAG. Make it a habit of glancing down at the bottom right of your screen every once in a while. 6) crouch, prone. know what to use, when. Remember that grass on most maps dont render at long ranges, so if you're hiding from a sniper, it better be behind a wall or sandbags or a mound. Otherwise you're better off running in zigzags/circles. Use crouch/prone to pop up and pop back down behind cover when engaging enemies, like when behind a crate or low wall. Why trust the cover to only cover your lower body when you can be out of sight most of the time. When engaging enemy that's behind a big boulder or behind cover, CIRCLE WIDE. Dont go up to the cover, knock and ask for ____, before going prone and INCHING around the corner cause you like getting poked in the eye by gun muzzles. 7) when clearing out buildings with second floors. GO UP BACKWARDS, GO UP SLOWLY WHILE LOOKING UP, LET YOUR BEST BUDDY GO FIRST, SMOKE BEFORE GOING UP, whatever it takes so that the squad leader hiding on the floor above doesn't get to shoot you before you shoot him. (random tip: in grain elevators, the ones with the REALLY ANNOYING top floors that are hard to clear out, nade/rpg the top floor. and if you're on the top floor, you can always jump out the windows to escape ) |
