I've spoken more than my share on this topic, but just a few things.

The reason why I think BF2 vanilla was actually enjoyable was because it was unranked, and all the ppl who did annoying stuff were all on the ranked servers getting points and feeling good. For POE2, we're one of the only servers hosting the mod that is ever full, and while that's something to be proud of, it also means you get people coming in who want to play not because they play TG, but because there's not really a lot of other places.

It's been said to death too, but hey we're all regular people (kinda) playing a game, we're usually sane and sober, but there's always times when we do stupid stuff and it might not seem 'fair' in the eyes of others. I've already resigned myself to the fact that some annoying things will happen on the server that shouldn't happen but hey things can't be perfect.

Also, be glad that BF2 is still nothing like the BF2142 community. I went in the forum and read a few topics and some of them just blew me away XD I recommend the topic about the new rule where they can't put spawn beacons on rooftops and how there's pages and pages of arguing about technicalities and 'what counts' and 'but it's a valid tactic'. Also today one popped up where a TG member sincerely offered his apologies for nade spamming on a map which he thought was un-TG. End of story? Nooo. In less than half a day (I think?) you get a 5 page long topic about TG idealists (which I admit I am one of) approving of his apology, and then others arguing how he had nothing to apologize for, and whether nade spamming is TG like, if it's stat padding, helping the team, etc. I was pretty speechless. Thank god we never ran a BF2 ranked server.

I still remember the first time I played Karkand ranked and saw the USMC initial rush for hotel, which consisted of 10 support guys throwing nades and racking up the kills until armor came in, camped the alleyway spawn points until 2 or 3 snipers gave up sniping long enough to walk by the flag and flip it. I was just like, 'WOAH YOU CAN DO THAT? Cool, I never knew that!' XD kinda amusing. effective? sure, sometimes. fun? sure, sometimes.

You'll always have the people arguing 'hey it's not fun for the ppl getting spammed' and the people shooting back saying 'well then get out of there, they're making the most of what they have', and as I found out months ago it's pretty pointless XD for me it's one of those apathetic, 'ok, those ppl suck, i hate them, whatever, time to move along, maybe later I'll get to knife them and feel good' things.

One good point that was brought up though, and one that applies to the tons and tons of snipers in POE2 is that for some of the maps, it's just the way it was designed. The lazy ppl will get into armor or a chopper and whore around, or find a nice little hilltop to camp and annoy the crap out of the squad trying to defend an exposed flag. I once had this round on highway to hell where my squad was the only full squad on the ground, holding or attacking a flag, for a good 20 minutes. Everyone else was trying out the air. But of course these are for the most part isolated incidents, the fact that the new patch for the mod came out fairly recently probably means people are still trying new stuff and 'having fun' at the expense of _____, you fill in the blank.

Conclusion? Do what you can, cause you can't do much more than that. And be grateful cause it could be a lot worse XD
