Tactical Gamer hosts the Battlefield Pirates 2 Mod stress test

Ahoy Tactical Gamers!

I am pleased to announce that Tactical Gamer was happy to accept a generous offer to participate in a special stress test session for the Battlefield Pirates 2 mod. Tactical Gamer was sought out by the Pirates 2 mod team not only due to our large community but also because our mature playerbase would ensure participants would take the event seriously and apply tactics to truly see how this mod would play in a full server environment. That is the key here...this event exists because the Pirates team want a full stress test to see how gameplay and balance plays out on the large scale.

Expectations for this event are to play through the various maps and get an idea of any problems with gameplay / balance. Test out all the weapons and vehicles and balance of those as well. The dev team hopes to get as much feedback as possible, and to hopefully create a fun event for everyone. This feedback will be used to make final changes/tweaks as the mod is getting close to releasing to the public.

What is the Pirates 2 Mod?

Pirates mod is a full conversion of Battlefield 1942 and more recently, Battlefield 2 by Electronic Arts and Digital Illusions Inc.

This here be the BF & BF2 Pirates mod. Get set t' pillage an' plunder with loads o' new content, redesigned gameplay an' lush realistic environments t' make any land lubber get their Yarr' on!

Land lubber translation: BF & BF2 Pirates is a mod designed for one purpose- fun. Though we have put hundreds of hours into research for the game, any historical inaccuracies or down-right wacky things have been created/ changed for the sake of game play. With that said, we are proud to present to you a mod that offers a truly unique gaming experience, and a level of fun not seen in any other bf mod. Our dedicated staff have put a lot of blood sweat, and bilge into re-creating this mod on the BF2 engine, and we think you will be extremely pleased with the end result.

Requirements for Participation

• Your account on this forum must have been signed up prior to the start of this signup thread. Sorry...no walkins after hearing about this event elsewhere.
• Teamspeak access and usage is required. (you don't have to talk...just as long as you can login and listen)
• You own Battlefield 2 and the game is patched and up to date.

Why does your name ring a bell when I see it ... oh right ... you killed me tons of times .

Loved the music/artwork and I think the mod has a lot of potential. Didn't really like the fast-paced gameplay and the high runspeeds so I hope this will be reduced in the final version.

Some of the maps had serious FPS drops, but I 'm sure this will all be addressed as it is still WIP.
