Please
For the love of God, if you wear the TG tags, do not break the rules.
Its hard enough getting those damn pubbies to not break them (especially the stealing vehicles from the UCB) but I have started to see some TG people break em too (not IHS members, FYI). There was even a few days back that I was getting livid because three or so rounds in a row it happened (UCB vehicle stealing) and then on the final round of that round succession I saw a pubbie who was in one of my earlier squads doing it... that I had verbally said over VOIP not to (in a previous round). Lead by example, thats all I ask. I recently got a PM from other members who have seen some additional |TG| members breaking rules that I, and others, caught in previous rounds and verbally reprimanded. I dont get ticked when it happens once (Although it'd be hard to tell because I spam CAPS TEXT to inform the other team not to do it, that way they have a snowballs chance in hell of catching the text), but after a few rounds of it happenning... oh boy. I think Eroak was there for the beginning of a round of Tunis that just followed a really bad round of rule breaking. I just started spamming the rules in caps before the round started. ... Lead by example, verbally inform your squad, verbally inform your comm. If you are comm, get on the case of those who do it. Not everyone's going to know the rules, and I understand that, but if you see a squad member of yours breaking the rules, inform him. I have to do that a lot with pubbies (which I seem to get a lot of in my squads for some reason... ) and you'd be surprised how easy it is to whip a fire under them. On a personal note, sorry for anyone who had to read my wall of text in game because someone started pissing me off. I give pubbies a couple chances before I get ticked, but when I see a |TG| member as a SM, SL, or CO of the offending players... thats pretty much a one offense to pissed off me.

Re: Please
I'd like to add: if you don't wear the TG tags, don't break the rules either.
Really, just don't break the rules.

Re: Please
DL, I have to give you credit for your attempt to help your peers on the right path here on TG. But often it doesn't work to well without direct intervention. All PM reports stay anonymous. So if anyone feels they see a peer out of line or even walking a gray line, give us admins a heads up.
That does bring me up to another point. I do see a bunch of TG'ers walking gray lines of rules(including IHS members) on the conquest server. Just think, when you perfrom these questionable acts. More then likely your annoying some fellow gamers. Revisit this agreement. That has to be one of the best posts ever made in our forum. That agreement needs to also include the general welfare of others. Make sure what your doing isn't ruining the game for others. Maybe all of us need to go back and just reread all the rules over again.

Re: Please
Great post and I may seem a bit out of line, but in my opinion.........If you are gonna where the Tg tag then you agree to uphold the above stated agreement and you are supposed to LEAD the way for others to follow in our community. If you are gonna break the rules, then you shouldn't bother with the Tg tags at all. Don't just remove them to break the rules, don't put them back on!

Re: Please
I wonder if perhaps people who are breaking these rules put on |TG| tags to try and get into better squads without actually reading our rules. In which case they probably don't come onto these forums to actually read about themselves.
As a squad leader it should be your job to make sure your squad follows all rules, your the first line of defense againts all the arse-hatters and their l33t behaviour.

Re: Please
I have taken notice to several new people wearing the TG tag and when i get them in my squad I ask them when they became a supporting member, and unfortunately, I hear more of I will be soon, than anything else. I kindly ask them after the round is up to please take their tags off. Most ask why and then I tell them. Most of them don't listen either, but some do. When they get snippy with me I just kick them from my squad, and that usually does the trick.
I would also like to add that I think it is a good idea to send a PM to the TG player that you see riding the line. Maybe he/she doesn't know. And not that I am saying that ignorance is an excuse, but there are alot of rules and guidelines and sometimes it is easier when someone hears it rather than reading it. Just my opinions. |

Re: Please
I too have noticed the blatent disregard of rules and abuse of administration privelages by TG memebers. I have been CO, and lead squads with TG memebers completely ignoring my orders, camping for heli's, taking apc's by themselves as SL, and setting no rally's, etc etc etc. I think upper level TG members/admins should crack down on such abuses.

Re: Please
Ignoring orders is a offense on TG. Although there are cases where you can, but 90% of the time, thats not the case. If your leading a squad and a member doesn't respond at all after you tell them via VOIP and get no responce, get a admin and have them warned and kicked. Remember, It's required to hear VOIP, but your not required to use a mic so they may reply via Chat. Same goes for COs to SLs.
In all my admin career, I have never once recived a report of this infraction, so how can I crack down upon this? The community needs to take the initiative on this one. Help get those lonewolfer's to either learn teamwork like I have myself before I came to TG, Or get them out of here altogether.

As com, though, they should follow your directions unless something is preventing them from doing so but they should respond if you ask via VOIP. Typed messages get lost in the spam and I know personally that I have trouble reading text while staring at the map screen and trying to report stuff all at the same time much less having to deal with hostile enemies like SLs do. Man, what a misleading job description. I thought I would be able to relax back and just leisurely dropping orbital strikes for giggles. I don't get to com often but, I normally find that the SLs for TG lead squads (and others for that matter) have a better situational awareness of what's happening around them especially when you provide that extra information with sat track/zoom in spotting?/UAV. While there might not be a point set, they could be simply doing so over voice because you know they like hearing themselves talk. I don't believe there is a rule where the SL has to make that purple/yellow line appear vs just saying what to do over voice. The long wait period at the beginning should give you ample time to chat with your SLs to figure out their general starting strategies.TDLR; I'd rather give TG tagged players the benefit of the doubt before I go accusing them of anything and the above can provide some possible explanations. I haven't really joined too many IHS squads (outside of Learn TG ones) and I definitely haven't lead one. I hope your experiences with TG members improves as mine has been mostly positive. |
