Well, I went to the 'Official' or w/e forums for BattleField2142 and it's pretty un-active. I just bought the game, and for crying out loud. Which idiot decided not to put an updater or the latest patches when playing in-game/installing the game. Besides that, I'm wondering. What is the latest patch and where can I download it? [x.x]

I know this is sorta' a newbie question, but yeah. I haven't gotten an answer yet.

The fastest way is EA Link, which is EA's Steam-like distribution tool.

You can grab it from filefront, gamer's hell, 3dgamers or the usual places you can download stuff for games if you hate EA Link with a passion. No one wants to install extra junk they don't need. Unfortunately, if you want to get Northern Strike (rather cheap and worthwhile), you need to use EA Link regardless but at least you don't need to have it on while you are playing.

Edit: I hope you enjoy your time playing BF2142 especially on the TG servers which offer nearly an unparalleled experience if you play at the peak TG hours.

After DL'ing NS, make sure to go to the EA link folders and move the NS installer somewhere safe. Then uninstall EA link before it can cause any trouble. Once you have the NS installer, you never need EA link again (unless EA puts out another EA link only booster).

What's with the EA Link hate? Run it when you need it and don't run it when you don't need it. It's a couple order of magnitudes faster than any of the other patch DL options listed in this thread.

Its just frustrating when it decides it doesn't want to work. I've had it randomly say I don't own a game a few times.

But, when it does work, I do like, very convenient.
