sniper rifles- BF2

How come typically it takes 2 shots to take down enemy with the M24 and the M95?

The 24 fires at 7.62 round, which is feeble compared to the 12.7 Anti aircraft round fired by the "50".
Look at this: The round second from left is a british lapua round, v. similar to the M24s 7.62 round. Right of it is the 12.7 50 cal round the M95 fire

A chest shot with the 50 would instantly kill an enemy, and also blow a hole about the size of your fist into him. I think 95 should be SERIOUSLY power upgraded, other wise its pretty much a useless weapon.

Any thoughts??

Yes, it's a game and not real life. Many things were done to increase gameplay over realism. It's also not realistic for someone to take a pistol shot to the arm, leg, chest and still continue to run as if he had never been shot.

Have you tried the AMR in POE2 yet? It's a one shot kill no matter where you hit someone.

If you want realism, pick up another title...namely Armed Assault

Re: sniper rifles- BF2

I have always assumed that they didn't make the M95 a one-shot kill because once you rank up and are able to get it, you can always spawn in with it. In the BF42 DC games, the .50 is a pickup kit, so the amount on a map at any give time is limited. I think they were trying to avoid having maps overrun with players wielding long distance, accurate one shot anywhere-on-the-body kill weapons.

I do understand that head shots are one shot kill.

Re: sniper rifles- BF2

dont get me started on teh sniper rifles in bf2. I usta play this game when it was released and i was always sniper, always. Me and the M24 would rack up the kills night after night, ask mateo or JMJ, or any that went up against me. Then the first patch was released, M24 nerf, patch 2 m24 nerf...after about 5 patches you basically dint have to aim and you got kills, so i stopped playing. They really screwed the sniper rifles up since people kept complaining they where to "hard"

If you aim for the neck you can ussually get easy kills, but that was after the last patch.
