Re: TG vs OpReality

Second game:

We won both. All in all it was a fun game playing with Fuzz, Red, Canadian, Emo and of course the rest of the gang (team)! I hope we can do this again! It's a shame most of them left (leaving only 9 people fighting for the PLA) However we did open a big can of whoopass today fellas! Good job! They also done a pretty damn well good job defending temple with the amount of players they had!

Fuzz in between two buildings:

Thanks to Dirtboy and everyone involved in organizing this scrim. It's a lot of work!

Thumbs up to Blonov for letting us test some things on his server the night before.

Re: TG vs OpReality

It was a fun time, and thanks to all. Re: that screen of the Fuzz up above, thanks for relaying that message, Goat. Someday I'll figure out why PR starts dropping me 2 hours into every scrim I play.... It's rather maddening.

That first round in Dirtboy's squad was a trip. I didn't move 50 yards the whole game; I just had to keep that door shut in the mine. And as for things I learned: When Dirt says to move away from the door, he doesn't mean back away slowly, keeping your rifle trained on that door; he means RUN!

Great job to the TG side, and props to the enemy PLA commander who swore to fight us even if he was the only one left...

I'm surprised you guys finished that second round since TG was declared the winner for the scrim when there were still over 400 tickets left for each team. I stayed for a short while until our numbers advantage got even worse and people started just messing around.

Re: TG vs OpReality

Yeah, once they had 426 tickets...it was impossible for them to win. Everybody that stayed just did so to make it an official win.

Re: TG vs OpReality

Well actually not quite since their tickets were still going up from the bunkers they had built, but basically yea they had lost.

We actually could have used a couple more ourselves, the game could go on forever that way.

Good games, pity they were a squad down in numbers

The last rounds scoreboard just after they fell to 426 tickets:

I didnt capture their scores properly but mostly it was 30 of us vs 25 of them

Re: TG vs OpReality

Instead of writing a large AAR, I made a movie. Halfway through, I was kicking myself in the ass for choosing the Video AAR.

ENJOY!

That is one sweet movie Dirtboy, +rep for the effort!

I want to thank my armour squad for the great PLA round. Gj to Xhorter, Terminal Boy and Ainselie, we kept the tank up the entire round . Also special thanks to Imnotacanadian and everybody else involved in the PLA planning.

More kudos to Warehouse for the US planning and Skud for taking over when WH left. Unfortunately half their team left once they were down to Temple and their main base. They did however put up a great defense at Temple, we needed our entire 30 player team to cap the flag . We even got to cap their Outpost in the end, but even with only 4 players left they managed to hold it till they were down to 50 tickets.

Congratz to those of Opreal who sat the round out even though they were abandoned by half their team, repect!

Re: TG vs OpReality

PLA Side: I want to nominate Bigayal for the amazing job at tank commanding but I think the real guy who saved our tank (and the effort at the Mine when we were PLA) was Steiner, multiple times he saved our ass from HAT and suicidal engineers and he kept our tank in top shape always.... the enemy kept pouring at us but because of steiner quick moves they could not sustain enough damage on us to take us out. There was moment when we had taken heavy damage and were getting swamped from both sides, getting hit by 1,2, then 3 light AT and then a HAT, but steiner managed to keep us repaired and took out infantry charging us too!! At one point an enemy HAT gunner snuck up right behind our tank, steiner found him out but unfortunately was KIA, that HAT gunner ate a HEAT round to the skull though which saved our tank hehe

USMC Side: good work squad leading canadian, we had a good defense at estate and our persistence paid off when we finally took that temple!! cant wait to make this video on that epic siege of the barn heheh

So anyways I had a great time, good squad work in the tank and in the infantry, Opreal never really stood a chance hehe

i am going to be making a video hopefully a good recap from my point of view....

Re: TG vs OpReality

Thanks Fuzz, it was sure great fun. I think that the entire crew did an amazing job up at the Mine with everyone spotting & firing together like a real crew should. Its awesome to see a squad that has never worked together before make up such a team right from the start. With the tank positioned as it was, I almost felt sad for the Opreal-guys coming over the ridge to the east.

Yeah, that HAT-guy litterary ate a HEAT-round from like 5 meters. Must have been sour for him after having swimmed up the river from Gov.Office or something like that to come up behind us.

My moment for the PLA-side up at the mine was when Fuzz went "-Watch this.." (turret moves a little to adjust), "BOM" and a Black Hawk over the Government Office crash to the ground. That poor pilot never knew what hit him, and did probably not expect to get picked off by a tank firing from the Mine. It was pretty cool to see that shot.

Must say that it would be quite cool to see a video of the fighting going on at the Mine with as much as two infantry-squads and a tank beating back wave after wave of attacks.

I am still trying to figure out how we (TG/PLA) could be so successful in the offensive. Flags went down all over the place, at Opreal appeared to never really be able to stop the TG-onslaught. The plan was appearently very solid and cred must go out to the person/people behind it.

Edit:
I found this over at the Opreal forums: http://Opreal.justgotowned.com
