New to sim and need some advice

I just got the sim. I have seen some posts about sound mods and I would like to get a different set of sounds. What is the best out there right now. Is there any more downloads for the game that are must haves?. Looking forward to getting the buttons figured out and going to war with or against some muture players that want to play this the way i do not run and gun like BF2. Thanks

Welcome Aboard!

There is no MODs needed to play this game here at TG, if I were you I would not even sweat that stuff until you get used to it all. The MODs are simply user enhancements.

Otherwise, yes this is a sim unlike other 1st Person Shooters, but that does not take away from the fact that this is even better. The controls make take a day or so, but for basic ground movements, it should only take a few minutes. Learning to fly takes a bit more practices and will come with time, but normally there are plenty of people willing to fill those roles.

As far as needing any help, by all means ask for it. When you join a game here, people are pretty understanding on teaching the basics to people.

There's a stickied thread in the ArmA mod forum about recommended client-side mods. Try them and see which ones you like. They don't prevent you from joining the server.

Just wondering how I would go about getting into your guys server and TS. I have a lot of questions like what is a FARP. I joined a public server last night, now I am a construction worker I swear and hear swearing all day, I hear things that would probably make a porn star blush, but the things they where talking about and the way the admins where throwing there authority around was unreal. I would love to play this game with some respectable people

Our TS coms are more controlled. Bad language and bad attitudes are not allowed. They don't even give me the pw to TS. They're that good.

FARP's are a prominent feature of the Evolution MP Coop mission. For everythng you wanted to know about Evo (as we call it), here is a handy guide:

Welcome aboard Jeremy. We are glad you are here. You will see we are on the opposite end of the spectrum as the pubbie experience had. We welcome questions and are only too glad to help out while in game. Look for me on the Evo or the coop server (after you read all the sop's etc). I'd be glad to have you shadow me around to pick up the ropes. Its not as hard as it sounds as long as you don't mind following orders and asking questions when necessary.

I'm usually on once a day for an hour or two and generally from 8-10 or 11 p.m. est. Sometimes we have organized events on Sunday and those are alot of fun too.
