A tactical game of OLESKO was played...
Just had probably one of my most fun rounds of Olesko Keep tonight, and yeah, right verily, we played a whole lotta D. Teams were about three full squads apiece, and as the Germans, we eventually secured the 3 flags within the castle proper. For the most part we held these flags, and our squad did a particularly fantastic job of holding the residence, and then moving to the Chapel when I couldn't get another friendly squad to defend a different flag.
Props to Corporate, Embiggener of the 7th, 420 Gman of the 8th, Kil, and the Misty-Eyed JimBob. I lost Gman with about 3 minutes left in the match to teamswitching, but he did us proud.
I really want to emphasize the discipline we displayed as a squad: We had guys overlooking staircases, Medics overwatching the stair-guards, and a fairly good set playbook for repelling attacks from the outside of the residence. We didn't stray from our objectives, nobody was playing around off in a forest by themselves, and when the squad moved as a unit, they got to where they were going as a unit, though I did have to split us up occasionally. Our squad score reflected the cohesion we displayed during the round as well, which was rewarding.
I can honestly say I don't think I've ever played a round of Olesko quite like it. Hope it helps to keep Kil out of retirement... And if you played in the round, make a comment. Long live the PoE2 AAR!
