not impressed

Ok I have been playing this for several hours now and in my opinion the battlefield series games are far more team oriented. There seems to be no way for a "squad" to work....everyone runs around doing there own thing and at least in BF2 and 2142 you can spawn on your SL and be back with them. maybe it will grow on me.....maybe not, but I will give it a chance.

Re: not impressed

Many people have the wrong idea about this game. Its not meant to be a tactical FPS. It is quake with some team elements added.

Re: not impressed

I had a few really good rounds in the demo being on TeamSpeak with a bunch of other TG'ers. I'm sure that can get going again as soon as we have the server issues fixed.

Re: not impressed

Don't get me wrong.. I love the game, but its more action and less tactical the BF games.

Re: not impressed

Although the game doesn't have the built in squad features like BFx I think it does have potential to be a good team style game. In your average pub BFx server the built in features are rarely used anyway so you're definately not going to find a strong teamwork sense in this game. Hopefully that will all change once the TG server gets situated and we get a good following here.

Re: not impressed

i am pretty disappointed as well.

-it seems like while the maps might be big (although i haven't seen one bigger than valley) and beautiful, you only get to see 10% of them cause thats the only places people are.
-deathmatch gameplay, much faster than i am used to or enjoy
-don't seem to be many people playing

i probably won't be playing much until custom maps come out.
i think bigger, more spread out maps, where everything isn't concentrated into tiny chokepoints would be a lot of fun (AKA BF style maps)

Re: not impressed

If anyone is still up and wants to try the server now, feel free..

It's not ranked, but it should be operational!

Re: not impressed

Damn. Oh, wait! Forgot the fix for one of the other problem issues with the Unranked servers. Let me fix that now. All set. Server restarting now.

Re: not impressed

The demo was very disappointing to me. I don't think I will play this at all. Unless someone buys me the game or 69 TGers donate $1CAD to me.

Re: not impressed

I tend to be disappointed by most game demos. The only reason I bought 2142 after playing the demo was because a buddy of mine got the game. Since then I've put almost 700 hours into the game. I wasn't too impressed by the ET:QW demo either but I had some extra funds with nothing else to spend them on so I picked it up and the small amount of time I got to play yesterday was fun. And that was all on pub servers by myself. Now that the TG server is up and hopefully stable I expect to have plenty of good times with this game.

True, I did not like the 2142 demo, and it became the game I spent more time on in recent history... Still don't think I'll get Quake Wars though.
