To clarify - is this VON on normal 1.03? Your prior posts implied that but I'd like to be clear so that feedback can be appropriately categorized.

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
For the record Alpha & Bravo are running 1.03, not a beta patch as yet.....

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
Also...for the record....
I am in direct contact with BiS's on this and have been for a while... I have been giving feedback on the previous VON test we did, the private tests with varying numbers, etc.
Patch 1.03 did nothing to address the VON issue and in their own words BiS "have not been able to recreate the issues that Shacktactical pointed out". I have confirmed tto them that we have also seen the increase in CTD's and given a number of tests and examples.
Just so that others are all aware that TG now has a direct link into BiS and we are doing what we can to help them as it seems previous beta testing was not able to convince them of the problem. Their words, not mine.
I believe this latest beta patch has come about from a number of us giving BiS input on the VON issue.

Code:
[58972] Hotfix: Possible crashes in VoN when many players were speaking simultaneously.
Sounds very promising! Cant wait to hear back about the tests!

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
The current beta patch VON fix is the result of test logs from our sessions previously. BIS's words, not mine.

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
@BlackDog1: Just as a point of interest, we were notified this morning that a particular test log from one of our members submitted in a prior VON test proved to be the key to solving this particular VON issue. That's direct from the lead VON coder as well as other highly-placed sources. It's great that you have links to BI, and even better that BI now has the extra help from TG as well as ST - more committed testers is a win for everyone in our wider community. However, in the true spirit of collaboration, how about we drop the point-scoring stuff? We'll be conducting a large-scale test tonight, and as D already promised Jeepo earlier in this thread, we'll be more than glad to share the results with your admins.

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
FER it's not point scoring, I was simply advising that BiS have told me that they could not recreate the VON issue as describe by ST, that was a message sent to me directly from the top brass at BiS. However the first part of yor post above is very much point scoring, as you may be one of several groups that have helped with the VON beta patch. I expect more from you especially. Isnt a great shame, said one of your members was not included more in the original beta testing before the game was released, maybe then we all would be using VON now.... who knows? What I do know is that many groups are all working hard on this, so I am sure there is a collective of useful information being shared.
BUT lets not turn this into a "oh everyone at ST come and have a look at this thread" as often happens when such things are discussed.
I am merely pointing out the fact that TG is now able to feed information back to BiS as well rather than the impression that was posted, that TG will be supplying data via ST to BiS.
I am quite sure with TG, ST, SimHQ and the other groups who I know are all working on this...something will be produced that gets the VON back to the level it was at just ealier this year in A1.

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
Gentlemen................
You do NOT want me to lock this thread. Lets all stop the attempt at measuring out giblets and lets look at this constructivly. That both TG and ST and VARIOUS other ArmA communities are able to test the VON and work directly with BIS is pure win for all of us.
Now, that being said, people have to stop taking this stuff so seriously, as far as I am concerned no one in either of these posts is having a go at anyone else. It seems that the fact that BIS can not recreate the same issue shows just how deep the issue runs with the game itself not the testers. If it was simple surely they would have fixed it by now. The fact that they can not recreate the fault but some others have (in this case it seems like TG was reiterating to BIS the same fault that ST experienced, but BIS were unable to copy) is good, so that one particular issue will not slip through the net. Lets all take a step back here and read what is ACTUALLY being said, not what others assume is being said yeah?
Now, on with the constructive parts or I will have to lock it, and that will make me angry....

Re: VON, TG & Arma 2
It's nice that so much of the ArmA playerbase is comprised of so few groups, as I imagine it simplifies the task of getting quality input about fixes/issues. We'll have to see how the latest beta affects everything...
