    Hi Tactical Gamers

Just had to drop by to thank for the gaming experience I had with you guys with the Burning Sara mission and the mission before that. Being on the GMT I had to fight my urge to sleep, but I just could not leave because it was so tense. This is how this game should be played! Would love to play with you guys on the Opteryx maps Afghani and Afghan Village, my favorite maps.

Also cheers to Jeepo, my squadleader for getting us through the mission with low casulties. Unfortunatly they got me as I tried to get a better view at the tankstation. Lesson learned, better save than sorry the next time.

Hey Dude, welcome to TG! You were my SAW gunner, there is a cool screen shot of you and a spotter in the AAR! We are currently working on getting Avgani island etc up on the server, so hang in there! As for getting hit, hell, it happens, don't worry!

SanLuca, hi mate.... i am in Europe as well and was pretty tired.... but it was so intense, i could not leave until mission was done.... Alpha who constantly ordering us to get up or down, yelling from behind via direct-chat, etc...
I really felt like being in the army - very immersive!

Also i have the video snippet as you was hit by that Grenade and Masta ACE as he said "SanLuca you foreign Motherf.........SanLuca is Dead".... very funny....

Cheers Jeepo, looking forward to play those Opteryx maps with you guys, missions on those maps will be very intense. Nice video snippet with spotter and me opening up on that machinegun position, I just love those spend casings.

Hi Mr.G-C, it really felt like army indeed. I didnt hear Masta ACE warning me, but as you say it was too late for that anyway. It was entirely my fault to get wasted by that nade, and what is even worse is that we were so bunched up that I put the whole squad in jeopardy by moving to far to open ground. But I learned the lesson the hard way.

Edit: Just saw the screenshot with spotter and me, nice one, thx Jeepo.

LOL Christian. The best part of the video is after MasterAce shot the RPG you can hear me in the background yelling at my squad about who shot it.

Yes...on the left side or right side? There is chatter on both sides....
Edit: What i found at funniest is the "waste" of Javelins on "soft targets" like Cars or BMPs when enough AT4 were around.... Especially the one Javelin fired at the BMP from less than 20m distance is a bit odd.....me and other AT4 Gunner were already in position to intercept the BMP.

About that last incident: The BMP pretty much jumped the whole platoon, IIRC. I think there was just the general idea of getting that BMP taken out no matter what. There was no time to ask around: "Is some AT4-gunner already targetting it?" The javelin-gunner missed of course, saying afterwards, that 20m was too close to hit. But in a situation like that, who would not at least try? :-)

Mr.GC. ... that is absolutely the funniest video ever. I can't believe 100% of shooting stopped instantly after the one rocket explosion.

P.S. hi guys And thanks for the praise of your jav gunner Jeepo you did an excellent job leading. Fuzzhead also did a superb job at keeping everything going to the win. I Hope to see everyone on the server again!

Yeah it was me who ordered that shot, didn't know there was a squad aiming at him. But if you were why didn't you take that shot earlier? That bmp got so close that take one of our team down.

Our brave Macolik was almost passing out, because of the weight, I yeld at him "We need that jav ASP!" he picked those last remaining strengths and made the shot. He missed, but it was a hell of a effort, knowing that we was the first to make the shot after walking 500m with a lot of gear.

I also believe that you can use the jav in direct mode now, and be used as a AT4.

    Re: Burning Sara 1/05/09

Fair Point, im not criticising it very much, just "hurts" me everytime to see that Javelins are fired at Soft-Targets when you don't know if at any later point in the mission some very heavy armor fo the enemy is appearing... get my point?

To the "why didn't you take that shot earlier":
Well i was already preparing to fire and almost wanted to type in direct-chat "backblast area clear!" (jesus i need a microphone-ready and a girlfriend not sleeping in the next room), but suddenly on the left side a enemy Insurgent appeard and openend fire at us, so i quick decided to take him out.. was a quick re-decision, maybe not the best but as we know, finally we had no casualties and BMP was successfully taken out.

I also believe that you can use the jav in direct mode now, and be used as a AT4.
    Quote from Army technology:
The gunner selects direct attack mode to engage covered targets, bunkers, buildings and helicopters.
The top attack mode is selected against tanks, in which case the Javelin climbs above and strikes down on the target to penetrate the roof of the tank where there is the least armour protection.
The missile is launched at an 18° elevation angle to reach a peak altitude of 150m in top attack mode and 50m in direct fire mode.
    UnQuote

Also i think there is a minimal arming range in RL, which could be implemented in ACE, so i doubt anyone would fire it at 10 meters or so..... It was already pretty risky by me to engage that BMP at ~10meters and i'm wondering too, if the AT4 Round doesn't have a "minimal arming range" in RL.

I got so nervous, i didnt cared about the distance Jorge was just yelling at me to put out the jav and destroy the bmp haha.

the direct mode is a bit difficult to use though, since there is no real aim for it.

I understand your point, but you have also to understand that it wasn't a pre-planned situation. We reacted to a danger situation with the tools we had, we were not spending a jav, we were trying to save our butts.
