for future reference note that you CAN quite easily hit close targets with a Jav. Aim lower, so that the rocket isn't pointing quite so high when its motor ignites (causing it to overshoot the target):

but remember that aiming too low will blow you to tiny little bits, if the rocket hits the ground before it accelerates
