    The Infamous...

    ... Operation Black Diamond!

You know it was coming folks. There is still active discussion out there on the TS t'ang. Let's start a flame w- I mean have a calm and gentlemanly like conversation of the evening's events in here.

Time of Operation: Between 1900 and 2100 hours, Sunday 23 May 2010

    Server: Alpha Server

To make this look structured and official like, I am suggesting the following format for the AAR. Parts that are non-applicable or you do not wish to fill out, either leave blank or remove from your AAR.

Side: BLUFOR or OPFOR (you must choose one).

Role: Grunt, Stryker Driver, l33t snip0rz, Squad Leader, Helo Pilot, Insurgent, Bomb'a etc.

War Stories: This is where your war stories go! (War face included... D:<)

What did you do well/poorly?: What'chu dun good! And what'chu ain't dun so good!

What did your team do well/poorly?: How was the teamwork? Was it good? Was it bad? Helo pilot stunk? Playing too aggressive?

What did the enemy do well/poorly?: Psy-ops? Psy-ops? Spawn killers. Psy-ops?

How can I improve (you, not NoDebate) for next time?: Be a better sport? Shoot straight? Tie your boot laces next time?

Other comments?: Hmm... Anything else not covered above that you'd like to include?

Smack talk?: Keep it gentlemanly please. No flaming. No cursing. No blatant taunting and/or jeering. (Requests for rematches and "throwing the glove down" would be best put in here.

... Seeing as I have to get back to actually working, I will post an AAR as soon as I have the chance.

    Re: The Infamous...

The difference between legitimate offensive tactics and griefing is zero. With the scope of this mission, attacking spawn points is a smart move. However, it's not a nice one.

I will not hesitate to say that any OPFOR strategy to attack BLUFOR's main base is a strategically-sound one, but it shows a lack of sportsmanship and consideration for the opposing team and the TG members that are on it. Killing players as they spawn, or as they wait for transport; destroying gear boxes, vehicles, and transport options; assaulting vehicles leaving the base; these things are legitimate but extremely rude tactics.

I must point out that there is no specific rule against the kind of activities that I've seen carried out on this map -- again I must stress that from a strategic standpoint they are completely effective. However, it's my feeling that this kind of behavior is disrespectful to half of the server population, and as such conflicts with the TG Primer, which we all do our best to adhere to.

As far as I know, person who assaulted BLUFOR's main base didn't intend, and didn't kill any spawning players. He only destroyed unknown number of vehicles. It's common sense, because this is what insurgents are doing in real life, with the difference that they also kill enemy soldiers.

    Re: The Infamous...

Although I diden't take part in this mission. The fact that opfor attacked blufor meens the opfor must have killed or avoided the road blocks, killed or avoided blufor attacking their own city and destroyed the Blufor base defence Bradleys. If Blufor let this happen id imagine its their own fault they got spawn camped. Plus if most of Opfor was doing it, surely Blufor in the AO could find and destroy the crates without much trouble...

I do feel after playing it myself that blufor should have a significant numbers advantage.
A problem that occurs is people JIP and join opfor and then Blufor suffers a slow but inevitable defeat.
