    Mission Idea Overview (MIO):

    THis mission is based on the Infiltration gamemode in Operation Flashpoint 2. Opfor's objective is to defend a radar tower while Bluefors objective is to destroy it. Players of Bluefor will have 30min to complete their mission or Opfor will win the game. Stealth is ofcourse the key for USMC but Opfor, they have two choices. Either they can stay and guard the Radar Tower or they can go on a "search and destroy" mission through the woods.

    Russian Team:
    Two Squads with two Fire Teams within each squad (22 players total). Also gets 2 Vodniks to use as they please.

    USMC - Force Recon:
    Two Fire teams (4 player per FT) and one sniper team (Sniper & Spotter)= 10 Players total

    Mission Idea Overview (MIO):I got an idea of a couple of humvees and some armour and about 2 attack helis are on the Blufor side(player) have to transport the leader to a certain point. The leader will spawn in a base with a few people to gaurd a first attack before the escort arrives. the leader will get into a random viecle then get the rest that were gaurding him to follow A lot of ambushed while driving by the forest with AT wepons and AA for the helis (most likely a scouting role) a couple maor incounters in towns and a few air units and there we go needs to be from basicly one sode of the map to the other

    Note: lock the helis so the leader cant cheat with it

    Teams:
    Alpha: Leader with about 5 infantry bodyguard
    Bravo: The mobile squad,of about 5 humvees
    Charlie: Air support, 2 attack helis
    Delta: Armour, about 2 anti infantry 2 anti tank

    I am looking to see if any of the harcore mission makers and good scriptors are interested in making a mission based off "Tears of the Sun". I've seen a few ArmA2 videos on youtube where people tried to do it. Curious as to whether anyone wants to spend serious time on making a mission like this for TG.

    I am thinking that both civilians and soldiers would be humans while the enemy is the AI.

    Mission Idea Overview (MIO):

    A small-ish spec forces detachment is inserted (either by HALO or just simply spawning on the ground) near an air field. Their objective - Steal a Russian Ka-50 attack helicopter that contains a top secret avionics package and fly it back to the USS Kesahn

    The black Ka-50 and it's 2 escorts have stopped over at the airfield for refueling. During refueling operations the pilots made their way to a nearby watering hole and drank themselves into a stupor. The Ka-50's are now sitting fueled and armed on the runway awaiting the pilots. The airbase commandant has dispatched 3 guards to gather the pilots. They should return shortly.

    Basically you must move to the town and eliminate the pilots. Three gaurds from the airbase should move to the town, link up wih the pilots and return. Try not to alert the guards as they will radio the airfield and extra units will spawn to defend it. If the pilots make it to the choppers alive, game over.

    With the pilots out of the picture, sneak onto the airfield and eliminate the guard around the black Ka-50. Player should be able to take the 2 other Ka-50's but it is not necessary to complete the objectives. You MUST fly black Ka-50 back to the carrier. If the other 2 Ka-50's are destroyed, there will be ample cargo helo's at the base that can be procured. Players will have to take at least one extra chopper to ferry the left over units not flying the black Ka-50.

    Could possibly add in some objectives about blowing up some of the other helicopters at the base, but the focus is stealing the Ka-50's.

    Mission Idea Overview (MIO): Basically this mission is an assault in force of an enemy air field. Two five man SF teams are HALO'ed in to neutralize the AA presence around the air strip while the main force prepares for an Airbourne drop into the objective. Once on the objective they must defend it from the enemy counter attack consisting of infantry and armour. There needs to be Helo's or Fighter jets for CAS missions. 30 players should fill it in fairly well anything less and it might become impossible. This mission is a good test of leadership skills and small unit tactics. The perfect CO/SL proving ground.

    Dredge, simple ideas even like that, can be very good missions, complex isn't always necessary because a lot of times, war isn't complex. :P

Oil in the Chernarus Sea.In the region of the Chernarusian frontier arrives 1 Cavalry Division and 22 Marine Expeditionary Unit, in front of them, there are two Rusian mechanized corps.Within 24 hours is expected to exceed the boundary line - phase line CHERRY by enemy reconnaissance units, the open sharing our offensive operations 72 hours.It will not start asymmetric hunt for suspect Toyota or a goat.The upcoming war is a medium-intensity conflict, tanks, artillery, and deadly for defense Apache anty air.There will be no hovering few miles above the village and look for suspicious events, you will need to fly just above the ground to survive.

    The mission:At 20:00 the new orders arrive, the AC-130, 4 Special Operations Squadron (4th SOS) was shot down, 10 km east of the FEBA (forward edge of the battle area), or in human language, as the front line. The crew is hiding and waiting for rescue in the area of the square of F-8.Our task, escort rescue MH-53H Pave Low.The entire flight is theoretically take 30 minutes, but the presence of 2S6M Tunguska, ZSU-23 antiaircraft complexes and does not bode Rapier's easy and pleasant.Our call sign is November 90, it is worth remembering, when check-friendly forces on the surrounding dangers.

    Primary mission target:Cover of MH53H and rescue operation.

    The other night, some of the players were talking about creating a VIP mission. I think that this would be a pretty cool idea. We would be a spec ops unit, escorting a mayor/governor.

    Also, perhaps a mission where the platoon patrols a city or something. I don't have anything real specific, just throwing ideas up.

    Mission Idea Overview (MIO): The mission begins with two primary factions, blufor & opfor, battling for territory control to ensure an uninterrupted power supply from Pobeda Dam to the industrial facilities in Chernogorsk. Objectives would be mirrored for both sides. To capture Pobeda Dam, Chernogorsk, and various transformer/power relay stations between. Completion objectives are capturing all and holding them for a set time. Failure will occur if more than a set # of secondary relay stations, or any of the primary stations/dam are destroyed, or a set number of civilian casualties occur.

    The third faction, independents/CDK, are interested in both blufor and opfor taking their little war elsewhere, and will do what they can to prevent either side from completing the objectives. They are not interested in causing a widespread blackout either, but success or failure is not dependent on maintaining Chernarus's electrical grid. Completion objectives are the destruction of both blufor & opfor HQs, or a set # of enemy infantry or vehicle kills, or the successful capture and defense of Pobeda dam and the Chernogorsk power station. The only failure category for the independents is exceeding a set number of civilian casualties.

    To keep it interesting, and where the game engine may fail the idea, is an alliance element. In exchange for arms (tanks, helos, etc), blufor and opfor can seek neutrality or an alliance from independents. Assorted in-game timers and scripted rules will need to be added to keep some loose control on how it works while still permitting the sort of back-handed manipulation that makes it fun. (after accepting a bribe, a no-entry radius for independents is enforced around enemy-held objectives for 10 minutes. An alliance can be broken if accepting sides shoot/kill an ally).
    Figuring out some way for a third team to interact with two other primary teams could be a script made available for other mission makers.

    MIO: Depending on how ACE2 is completed re nukes and health/damage scripts for radiation, something that leaves civilians/characters in the blast radius with varying levels of radiation poisoning, this might work:

    Devise some clever plotline to get a dirty bomb defused/controlled before opfor sets it off. The following can evolve into a small mission for sp/coop, or a domination/multi-objective scale coop mission. tvt is possible, but it might hurt a storyline.

    1st half of the mission is getting to the bomb/finding it's location. Lots of room for creative approaches. Perhaps multiple missions? Start as an independent/civilian pursuing rumors that a bomb is near their home, and the mission succeeds/fails depending on the intel they gather and if they reach a USMC/CDK/military HQ to relay the info. Fighting could be very light, some infantry, mostly story-building for this one. (for larger coop, one or more players would be on-the-ground civs throughout, gathering intel, providing information to a larger force...mission may start without any indication of nuke danger, just military patrols...this keeps the first-play exciting and suprising for people uninvolved in this mission/campaign development)

    2nd bit:

    Swap to military character....follow intel, find the bomb, skirmishes and battles of various constructs to fit the mission maker's desire. Dependening on the bombs location/condition.

    If bomb contained...then localized radiation from the poor construction must be identified and quarantined (such as the assembly room for the bomb, or anywhere else it sat for some time, such as an opfor transport vehicle). Incorporate whatever tools a character would need, including military rad suits, a geiger counter, and fences/flags/tape/map markers. As one team sweeps for radiation AND survivors/dead with radiation poisoning, a second humanitarian team responds to the survivors and dead by consolidating bodies and treating injured and poisoned.

    The humanitarian part of the mission could begin as soon as radiation is detected. This adds the unique challenge to this capture-the-objective mission, to examine, treat, and evacuate civis to some staging area while looking for the bomb.

    If bomb NOT contained...easy to imagine the initial outcome. Ideal would be no cutscenes, but real-time reaction to a global disaster. As the dust is settling and the military regoups, start again the humanitarian mission in earnest, but radiation levels are higher, casualties are obviously massive, and the objectives become catch-the-criminal and a quarantine-the-city/mop-up for the other team.

    Mission ends when leader caught/killed, AND bomb contained/detonated AND remaining opfor flushed from the city AND city/radiation detected/contained (how to complete?) AND lastly, civilian triage operable.

    Domination game mode must have some useful scripts fo the prisoner/downed pilot side missions (interating with civis).

    I'm excited about this idea, although I recognize it is very complex. At the heart, it is a mission or campaign where you keep playing after the traditional 'failure' cue is past (the bomb going off). This would help with immersion, since the player would have to work in the aftermath of their failure instead of just watching a cutscene.

    Mission Idea Overview (MIO):
    This is an acutal Op carried out by the SAS in Sierra Leone.
    Full Brief can be found here.


    The objectives of the mission, now codenamed 'Operation Barras', were as follows :

    * Rescue the 6 Royal Irish Rangers along with their Liaison officer
    * Capture or kill the rebel leader, Foday Kallay
    * Recover or destroy the captured WMIK Land Rovers
    * Suppress / chase off the rebel troops at Magbeni

    At first light on the morning of September 10th, 2000 the helicopter assault force went into action. The assault force consisted of :

    * 3 Chinook HC2 helicopters flown by RAF Special Forces 7 Squadron. 2 Chinooks were carrying integrated SAS/SBS fireteams (70 men total) landing at 2 landing zones (LZs). The third Chinook was carrying paratroopers from 1 Para.
    * 2 Lynx Mk7 attack helicopters from 657 Squadron AAC, armed with miniguns
    * 1 Mil-24 Hind Gunship manned by friendly local forces

    /Marvin note: There were also SpecOps sent in ahead of time.
    I'm willing to help in anyway needed to make this happen (find real life maps, more info, etc). I only ask that if someone starts to make this, they give me a heads up.
    Given what was added in the mod pack I thought this would be a great mission.
