    Returning to ArmA

    Hello gents.

I'm looking to return for some ArmA.
My game is patched to 1.09.5208, what's my next step jump straight to 1.12 ???

I've had a look here >>> http://www.tacticalgamer.com/armed-a...1-patches.html but there seems to be differing info contained within.

Congrats to Bamboo & Shafik on their promos.

    Welcome back Barnaby...

You can now skip 1.11 as we are running 1.12 beta and 1.11 (as well as 1.09) is obsolete. The correct procedure for patching to 1.12 can be found here:

    Barnaby, welcome back!

Some advice, don't fall into the same trap I did. Don't ever return to the TG servers. Just kidding. The 1.12 patch installs into a 'beta' subfolder in your ArmA directory, so when running this new version you have to run the new executable in the ArmA/beta directory - still ensuring that you run it with the
    "-mod=beta" tag.

This caused me ~10 minutes of head scratching.

Here is where you need to look:

Offers very good directions on how to install and uninstall when the final comes out.

OK done that and been onto game.

I found I could start game from the desktop icon I had for my 1.1 beta and yes it does say 1.12 on the load screen.

Only thing is it has changed all my movement/fire keys about is there any way I can get them back to what they were.
If not I'll have to go through them all :¬(

If you never uninstalled or changed your user your profile with all the key settings should have still been there...if not you will have to re-bind unfortunately.

    Re: Returning to ArmA

Ok thanks Loyal, I'll check my profiles again but I haven't un-installed the game it's as I left it the last time I played.

Seems odd though as I don't have the fire button assigned [left mouse] but I can chuck nades.

OK........... checking my profiles I am on the lates and correct one. I can load in the others to see what key I had set for what so no major prob there.

However when I loaded the game back in some of the profile started to work and was assigned...odd as it wasn't before.
eg I can use the F key to cycle my weapons and then fire them except my load out says I have an M16 but I can not select it or fire it.
