Q. about the Steam version of ArmA...
Just wondering... the Steam version to ArmA is v1.08... usually Steam automatically patches it's games... but not this time... how are you steam users patching and with what file?

I dont have the Steam version so I cant help... sorry.
I just wanted to make sure you actually got a response :P I know how you hate not getting one.
Actually I was under the impression that applying the patch worked the same as the nonSteam version... I could very well be wrong though...

From what I understand, the Steam version is just a digital version of Atari's boxed copy, so it's already at 1.06. I'm in the process of updating mine through the Atari system, which is 1.08 + 1.14, and I'll let you know how it goes.

How did you manage to get the patch to work on Steam's install? Both patches tell me that I "do not have ArmA installed or the installation is corrupted". I'm fairly certain both are incorrect.
EDIT: Cancel that, turns out AVG was blocking my user permissions for some inane reason. Patching commenced!Last edited by Sc[ + ]pe; 08-04-2008 at 05:58 PM.

If you can't launch it through Steam, make sure you haven't taken the ArmA files out of Steam/SteamApps/Common.

i got it....it had to be updated to 1.14 launched right after
