RTE unfortunately seems to be a culprit. I'm not aware of how the addon works technically, but it sure is sad that however it works it can potentially cause problems. I don't know if anyone really know how or why RTE interferes with at least ACE (maybe more than just ACE?). Maybe it is ACE that has messed something up that RTE does right, or is it the other way around? No idea

You found this too Inkompetent? I guess the only solution for now may be for admins to ask people who have RTE loaded to restart without it.

-When one client hit the "go green" button at the briefing, 4 out of 5 trial tests all map markers disappeared. Every time we launched the mission after this happened, it ended with the instant debrief.

-The exact client who caused this (everyone took turns hitting the "continue button") had the @RTEditor addon loaded. Noone else had that mod loaded at the time. After the client unloaded this addon, the mission was launched successfully 3 or 4 times in a row.

...This leads to clients having the RTE addon as a prime suspect. But I must note that one time when this client still had the RTE addon loaded, the mission did launch successfully. So it's not 100% the cause. If we could get some volunteers we should maybe get one person to load the RTE and run some more tests on someone's dedicated server?

Thanks go to Macolik, AceKing and evilNate (of the 4thIB) for helping me figure it out this much...
The error blackdog was talking about that operation black falcon caused was something really different. Although it did the debriefing thing, the side and group channels were out of order, and the ammo crates were completely unaccessable. After blackdog rebooted the server with operation black falcon deleted, it worked fine, and I had the RTEditor mod on the whole time.

    Re: Server #2 Problem

Okay roger. I have seen the exact same behaviour of the issue we had on my server last night at other times though -- markers disappeared, and debrief came up as soon as the mission started... of course I had no idea if anyone had RTE loaded at the time.

I'm not a programmer but I think I will have a look at what sort of stuff is inside of RTE, out of curiosity...

failing that it is RTE, it is possible it is some strange issue with 1.15 or ACE... but I'm skeptical of that because the code the server's running doesn't change. For it to encounter weird issues one time, and then work perfectly when doing the exact same thing the next time, doesn't fit the behaviour of "buggy code"...

I wonder if we could find anyone else reporting similar issues on the BIS forums?
