Try turning some items off, such as shadows, and see if that helps.

Re: Terrible FPS with new ACE 1.7 patch
I would start by taking ACE out of the mix. Run just stock ARMA and see what happens. Then just ACE by itself without all your other addons. See what that does.
Most everyone saw a bit of a hit with the new ACE, but with 1.16 beta release yesterday, saw a bit of a boost it looks like.
Might even want to reinstall ARMA as a last resort. Give everything a fresh start.
And I'm a bit disappointed that you have such a killer rig, but still run lowplants.

Re: Terrible FPS with new ACE 1.7 patch
Lets be clear on this "Lowplants" thing.
Old version (shouldn't be used):
plants.pbo (429,568KB)
sara_grass.pbo (1,426KB)
Newer version:
PROPER_plants_standard_textures_with_lowplants.pbo (433,560KB)
PROPER_plants_standard_textures_with_lowplants.pbo .PROPER_plants_standard_textures_with_lowplants_20 08_12_06.bisign (1KB)
Newer version doesnt require Queens Gambit (older does), this particular version is to replace default textures with their optimized version.
However, there is another choice for 'autumn' textures.
Google is your 2nd best friend.
"Proper lowplants"

Re: Terrible FPS with new ACE 1.7 patch
I just ran ArmA without any addons and i had 60-70 fps so i dont think anything is wrong there.
I got a slight boost by the 1.16 patch but i think im going to reinstall the entire game and see what happens.
and about the lowplants thingy.. flakt keept whining on me since i didnt have it so i got it to shut him up

Re: Terrible FPS with new ACE 1.7 patch
Yeah, I'm am 99% sure that ACE includes the JTD smoke mod anyways ...
When you are messing around with addons, please look for info on whether the addon should be on the server as well. If the author says it should, there is a HIGH chance that it will cause weird behaviour for other players who don't have it.

Re: Terrible FPS with new ACE 1.7 patch
If people are still having FPS problems with ACE, something else to try out.
Try disabling/turning down the number of spent casings.
If you slowly lose FPS over the course of a mission, this is likely to be the cause.
The change is located in your ArmA/Dta/ACE/ace_clientside_config.cpp
Find the entry for spent casings, and turn it off. Might help.
