Data file too short addons\characters.pbo
Hi im new here,
I have a problem. I've installed the game but when i try and play it this error comes up:
Data file too short addons\characters.pbo
Help!

Sounds like a failed installation. Try to reinstall the game and hope it works. With bad luck it might be the download/DVD that's corrupt.

Delete your profile settings and all the config files in your
C:\Documents and Settings\Namehere\My Documents\ArmA 2

Don't know what else to tell you but to return the game and try to get a replacement.

Yeah, sounds like a corrupt DVD to me too in that case.

Congratulations!
Coming to think of it I had installation errors as well, but that was failure to accept my CD key. I solved it by copy-pasting the content of the DVD to HDD and installing it from there. Worked like a charm
Probably my DVD player that's getting old and worn out
