I saw that French ERYX misfire one about a year ago, and have no problem admitting I if I had been one of those guys, I would be in dire need of a new pair of pants.

Odd that the guys in the first one don't even seem to care that their guy was punched in the stomache by a few tons of force.

Seeing that camera topple in the second one is comical but I bet the soldiers manning the battery have never run so fast in their lives!

Quebec's official language is French. The rest of Canada is bilingual French/English, officially. Although I'm sure that the soldiers in the Quebec detachments of the Canadian military can speak English (it's a rare sight to find one that doesn't), French is probably their PREFERRED operating language, if only because they're a bunch of pretentious wankers.

I think for the 22er you HAVE to speak french ... if it's not a legit requirement, you can damn well bet they'd be a liiiitle pissed if you didn't.

The quality of the video IS kinda crappy ... but isn't the CADPAT a dead giveaway? Don't think the French use a pattern like that ...

The movie's a fake, I think. Besides obviously clipping prior to firing, several weeds are out of sync with the timeframe, and some disappear altogether after the clip.

Also, it's steaming. Unless the exhaust system misfired along with the primary engine, there shouldn't be anything like that, and if the exhaust system DID fail, the missile would have blown up immediately.

I think this falls under the "not all pain is gain" category

I will try to take it not to personnal. :P

After the (first) war, the 22nd Battalion was disbanded on May 20, 1919, sharing the fate of the other numbered battalions of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. However, in the post-war reorganizations of the army, public pressure, such as resolutions by the Legislative Assembly of Quebec as well as the City Council of Quebec City, demanded that a permanent French-language unit be created in the peace-time Regular Force, and accordingly a new regiment was created, made up of veterans of the 22nd Battalion, on April 1, 1920. Initially the regiment, which was given the guard of the Citadelle of Quebec, was simply the 22nd Regiment, but in June 1921 King George V approved renaming it The Royal 22nd Regiment. In 1928 the anomaly of a French-language unit with an English name was resolved, and the regiment became the Royal 22e Régiment.
    The Royal 22nd is a french-canadian regiment.

Certainly not trying to offend you, sir. I spent 3 years in Toronto, and I've always poked fun at my French-Canadian brethren. No offense!
