Re: veteran, or regular?
Thanks for turning 3rd person off.
Any word on the removal of auto-spotting and auto map markings?

Little by little Mr Fuzz....
There have been some pretty big changes of late and we are just doing our own research as to what people like and dislike, but as said before, we are looking at all suggestions as we always do.

Re: veteran, or regular?
On rare occasions the scoreboard can help, i.e. when we looking for a teamkiller, etc. But in general I dont believe the scoreboard adds anything to the style of game we like to play here.
I peronally could not careless if I had 100 points or 2 points, the question I want to know is ...Did we win?

Re: veteran, or regular?
It also removes the element of "I got the most kills". I would doubt TG really wants score-hoarders. To me people who want high scores generally put that above their team mates or the mission objectives.
Getting back on topic, are the map markers going to be removed (or have they already)? One of the things I like about not seeing where I am on the map is that I may get lost and end up in the wrong position from where my FT or squad need to be (an element that happens in RL today). The other thing of course is, and the main point for disabling this option, that we don't see where the enemy is.
This only really applies to those missions where the GPS has been disabled anyway. With GPS enabled you won't see ur pos on the map, but you'll get a grid ref on gps.Jex.

Re: veteran, or regular?
I think the GPS is good, and to be honest it is realistic in that prett muc most people have a GPS on them now, even if it is their phone.
I also dont like the auto-spot where you can see AI on the map, even though you cannot see them personally, so I think this will go, if it has not been done already?

Re: veteran, or regular?
BUMP... this is a huge deal IMO for the TvT server at present... last night while playing some TvT missions I spotted 90% of my contacts on the map before I actually seen them in game... and I know the enemy was doing the same... this is an easy setting to change, hoping can get changed especially for the TvT server.
As well as this change, the veteran mode is still plagued with no VON tags and player killed messages. At this time veteran mode for TvT is unplayable unless VON tags turned on and player killed messages and removed.
Thanks for reading.

Re: veteran, or regular?
Fuzz,
I have to say I agree and I am recommending that for the TvT server, there should be no 3rd person, no autospot, VON tags turned on and player kill messages removed.
Once we have this I am hoping we have lots of happy smiley gamers!

Re: veteran, or regular?
There is a server issue that after a few rounds the server goes back to a default setting where auto spot is turned back on. It is a glitch that needs to be resolved and it will be soon, I hope. We all hate autospot and stuff like that, but we are working on fixing what is causing issues with the server....

I'm glad to hear that, I thought I was a minority with those thoughts.

Re: veteran, or regular?
Any update on this?
Still would very much like to see some changes to the configs of both difficulty settings.

Re: veteran, or regular?
Would very much like to see these setting changed especially for TvT (perhaps cadet mode could be for coop and vet mode for TVT)?

Re: veteran, or regular?
I have a question, can veteran mode and crosshairs be combined?
Its kinda disorienting to not have the crosshairs as reference when using trackIR
Playername Sparks444 in BF2
