I actually thought there was extremely little side channel chatter, and a lot of that was relevant to other squads. If everyone stopped talking when someone said something on side, chances are they got informed more quickly than they would have if TS was used, because it cut out the SL having to repeat most things. I like when a SL keeps me well informed, and if he is doing it the way you suggest, I don't think he would be saying much because he would get tired of repeating it.

I think it might come down to little picture/big picture types of people. Not that one kind is good or bad at all, and the world needs both kind of people at the same time. But just me personally I like knowing big picture all around the battlefield. Some other people only want to know what is right in front of them that they are shooting at. Just my thoughts on the subject.
