Re: ACE Patch 3 released
Be aware of 'ACE Patch 4' released as well dealing with a showstopper bug in Patch 3.
You need to install 1.03 first.
Check ACE Forums as I am not allowed to post a link--

ACE Patch 4 released
Patch 4 was released immediately after #3.
Apparently I can't post URLs yet, but head to ACE homepage and you'll find it. Armaholic and the rest will probably follow soon.

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
1.03 and 1.04 break a few missions we have on the servers. A number of them had Bradleys.

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
The Bradleys were broke to begin with, bad templates used for the positions. Anyway, post up any unplayable ones you guys come across.

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
The Bradley is replaced by M113 model for now.
The class still exists, so u can play missions where Bradleys are in, you just need to remember that it will be a M113 for 1.04.
It has also been disabled in the editor, so u don't get confused by it saying "M2A2" but showing a M113.--

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
WOW.....not to put a dampner on another release which hopefully improves what is truly a great MOD (congrats Rocko to you and all the team) but can we maybe extend the time of the releases a bit to help save incidents like an instant 1.03 to 1.04 patch?
Not everyone has truly highspeed connections and having to download every week it seems and then having to fix missions every week, is becoming a bit of a pain in the butt!
May I suggest a monthly patch? that way everyone knows that on the 1st of each month ACE may or may not, release a patch if one is ready or not?
Just a suggestion but it might help us keep the interest of a player base that is casual and the first they hear of the update is when they try to connect and cannot. It also helps us as server admins manage the missions available.
Again it's been offered before as I am sure you are aware, but TacticalGamer.com is the number ONE ranked ACE server now in the world and we have a great playerbase that is more than willing to help test any new release, in addition to the other groups you currently work with.
Thanks and if you need anything, give BigC or any of us a shout.
Best

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
Well, keep in mind this is a Public Beta. Expect weekly revisions. The reason 1.04 was released (a "hotfix") was that it broke quite a few missions to the point where it simply crashed to desktop. 1.04 is only 11.5MB in size. If you can't download a file that size, you probably are going to have a hard time playing ArmA online ...
Weekly revisions are great, it keeps the community interested, and makes them feel like they have a good relationship with the dev team, especially when bugs they report are fixed in a quick manner.
It would be nice if there was some way to lower the file size of the "patches", but if it unavoidable, don't hold off on a release simply because it's only been a week ... would much rather have a version with less bugs and more features ASAP, rather than stick with a schedule that may slow the development process.

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
Patches was what I meant, no one worries about 11MB but 500MB...yes that can take some time for some people.
As with all things, we all have opinions as to what we would like to see and many of those opinions can be motivated by different things. Personally the view was simply from a management of a server and multiple missions perspective rather than an individual perspective.BlackDog1

Re: ACE Patch 3 released
I'm a big fan of getting new patches up on the server ASAP. This patch looks amazing so far.
