This game sounds very interesting, but i agree with Xmaster on how he didn't like how they would have to kill "every insurgent you encounter". It makes it sound almost like a "kill them all" game. But otherwise, I agree it could go very badly or very good. Hopefully it will be moddable.

After reading the article, it seems this game has not gone the realistic way. Oh well, it looked promising.

Thanks for the read. Too bad it turned out this way. Even though I expected them to go this route and make Fallujah into a CoD type of game, I was really hoping for a simulation/re-creation of the battle but guess it was just a marketing ploy.

Man, from what the article said, "marketing ploy" seems to be an understatement.

That was pretty much the idea going in the second time. After a few days and realizing the civilians were mostly out, judicious use of supporting fires became common, with at least one rifle company making it SOP to put a couple of thermobaric SMAW rounds into any house that offered resistance and one of the Army mechanized infantry battalions making thunder runs up and down the streets, blasting every structure in sight.

I don't think that'll make it in the game though.

Ah ok that makes sense then. But still dissapointed in the fact that the game won't be more realistic. Too bad they changed that, it would've been nice to see supporting fire like that.

Yea well this day and age....the majority of the gamers like games like this, and for us few and proud that thrive on realism....I believe we are going to have to wait a long time for that "ULTIMATE" experience

As long as these soldiers are portrayed in a good and honorable manner then I think it's a good opportunity. Hopefully this will generate more recognition for their valiant efforts in Iraq and hopefully they're also being compensated well for their help on this videogame.

What I don't like is that they also have insurgents, terrorists basically, that are apart of the team and contributing to the game. My big question is; are they really paying these guys!?

Yeah that surprised me also when they said they were also using insurgents as part of their team.

Also, for now all of us who want that ultimate experience are gonna have to stick with ArmA because its all we have at the moment.

This game is being marketed as a simulation and is suppose to try and show people what the soldiers figting go through. In actuallity it is CoD with a different name and does a grave in justice to the harsh reality of the current war. The masses of kids that play this game will get the wrong idea of what goes on over there. Just my 2 cents.

As much as Konami would like it to be, this game will never ever be near as cool as ArmA / OFP

Interesting idea. Atomic has a pretty good reputation. Did anyone play their FPS game The Road to Baghdad ? I wonder if it's going to be a rework of that failed attempt?

You realize many insurgents switched teams, right? A lot of guys that were shooting at us and emplacing IEDs in 2004 are on our 2009 payroll. I assume that who Atomic is consulting. Otherwise it would be pretty wierd because no insurgent in his right mind would talk about his TTPs with a game developer.
