How to get started with ArmA at TG

This is my new way of keeping track of all the downloads, keeping you guys updated, as well as getting you new guys started.

Current TG ArmA Mod file contents:

ArmA International Update 1.05
ArmA International Update 1.05>1.08
ArmA International Update 1.08>1.14
ArmA Beta Patch 1.16
A.C.E Mod 1.08 Full
A.C.E Mod 1.09 Update
A.C.E Island Pack 1.13 Full

How to get started

1) Buy and install ArmA

You can get it for around $5 on ebay as well as various sites all over the internet.

2) Download the new TG Mod Pack

3) Unzip the TG_ArmA_Mods folder and have a look at the files

4) Install the required add-ons and mods

A) Install the official ArmA patches, starting with 1.05 all the way up to the 1.16 Beta, allowing at least one shortcut on your desktop for simplicity

B) Install A.C.E 1.08

C) Install A.C.E 1.09 Update

D) Install A.C.E Island Pack (ACEIP)

E) Go to your ArmA root directory EG: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\" and create a new folder called @Avgani, and inside of that a new folder called AddOns. Copy the files in the Avgani Iraq & Afghan Village folder into this AddOns folder

F) Go to your ArmA root directory EG: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\" and create a new folder called @Schmalfelden, with a folder inside of that called AddOns. Open the Schmalfelden zip and drop the three files into the AddOns folder

5) Edit your shortcut

A) Right-click your shortcut and we will edit theTarget line

B) It should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe"

C) As we have installed ACE and ACEIP, we need it to look like this so the game launches A.C.E and A.C.E Islands, and so it launches the new @Avgani and @Schmalfelden folders:
"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -nosplash -mod=beta;@aceip;@ACE;@Avgani;@Schmalfelden

D) With that done and saved you are good to go, and will have access to all TG ArmA servers

Recommended Addons

VOP Sound Mod

A personal favourite, and used by most of the guys here, as it replaces the frankly abysmal stock ArmA sounds with some nice audio

1) Download VOP 1.19

2) Install VopSound 1.19

Open the folder and copy the "@VopSound_ACE_1.19" file into your ArmA root directory EG: C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA

3) Edit your shortcut

Change the target line of your shortcut to reflect the new folder in your root directory to be started by adding the name of the new file at the end, so it now looks something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -nosplash -mod=beta;@aceip;@ACE;@Avgani;@vopsound_ACE_1.19;@S chmalfelden
