Tried the demo using those options, it was better but it was still awkward and lagged behind a second. So eventually I lowered the graphics all the way down except the normal resolution, and it looked like a mix between Delta Force 1 and Day of Defeat Source. But I tried to ignore that and I tried out the rest of the training levels. Many things frustrated me, including how some guns would disappear, and I just wasn't used to the system. After crashing a bit in the helicopter, I just closed it. I think I'd only really like this game online if I were not put up to the job of driving/piloting. But many things from the infantry side confused me, including remembering controls. I kind of wish video game developers, instead of making the "Low" settings totally ugly, took the medium graphics for
ArmA 1 and set that as the "Low". That would make my life a whole lot easier. But until I ever get a computer that allows me to play newer games on anything other than "Low" with smoothness, I'll probably give up on
ArmA.
Thanks for all the help and support, I'll check in with this forum every once in awhile. Sorry things didn't work out so well.
