Convoy Mission 1/09/09

**MISSION DESCRIPTION**

MISSION TYPE: TVT

MISSION OBJECTIVE: Prevent BLUFOR from escorting fuel trucks to FOB

MISSION CO: Hoax

**MISSION BRIEFING**

We were concern about how the convoy from BLUFOR would go through the

town of Corazal so we sent a couple of men to a hill just west

providing over watch of the NW bridge and SW road which both leads to

the town. Satchels were placed in particular locations inside Corazal

which were marked as Xs by our commander, Hoax. Our plan was to wait

quietly and stealthy until the convoy passes through Corazal but that

was not the case here! Due to Hoax excellent command skills and

everyone's flexibility, we adapted quickly to the change of plans

during the mission. Take a seat and relax while I describe what

actually happened and show you some screen shots plus videos!

**PLANNING**

In these two videos, you will find us talking about how we are going to

deal with the UH-60 once it arrives to the town:

**WAITING**

In these next two videos, we are waiting for the convoy to arrive

checking the SW road first and then looking over at the NW bridge. As

you can tell, it is pretty quiet and we have been waiting for 20-30

minutes already:

Scanning SW:

Scanning NW:

**CONVOY ARRIVES**

After waiting for quite a while, the convoy finally decides to show up

SW of Corazol. At this time, we could not confirm that the fuel trucks

were present so we were still concern about the NW region of the town.

First Humvee advances to the compound:

Blufor commander, Gunner, decides to move the convoy forward revealing

our priority targets: 3 fuel trucks. At this point, we are focusing on

the SW area and getting ready to ambush:

**DANGER CLOSE**

One of the vehicles starts to advance into Corazol and as I check back

to take a look at the fuel trucks, I lose visual contact of that

vehicle and start to warn the others about a possible threat inserting

into the town. But of course, UDSSR kills all of them with no problem.

ENEMY VEHICLE COMING IN THE TOWN!

Calm, my friend, I have already gave them some taste of my kung fu - UDSSR

**STARTING OUR AMBUSH**

Now that we've been watching them for a while now and realized that

they were afraid of taking those fuel trucks in the town because of

just a few men annihilating anyone who comes close, our command Hoax

takes advantage of this and decides to make a risky move towards them.

At this time, UDSSR is the ONLY one pushing the enemy back out away

from Corazol and succeeds! As we move towards them, we notice that

their fuel trucks are getting ready to move up so our commander, Hoax,

orders UDSSR to fire in the air to let them think that we have plenty

of men guarding the town. BLUFOR gives in into this bluff and keeps

their fuel trucks back. These next videos will show you our "commando"

style ambush on the convoy while UDSSR does an excellent job at holding

off the attackers.

Re: Convoy Mission 1/09/09

'Twas great. It was my first time having some sort of leadership role in ArmA. While RANGER 1 had problems (Our Stryker was bugged), we quickly adapted, and following the directions of Convoy Command, took another Humvee, then I needed to take command of HAMMER 2 as well. It was nice, but we couldn't really help against the ambush, as we were lost deep in Corazol.

Good game, guys.

Re: Convoy Mission 1/09/09

This is one of the best missions i've played in a long time. Such an adrennaline rush doing that command raid. RPG22 sucked by the way. Just take my hat off for UDSSR for his amazing one man army defending East Corazol, probably the one that made this possible.
Good teamplay, one of the resons i'm playing in Tacticalgamer servers.

Thanks Ligud Snake for an exelent AAR. Hoax for exelent command.

Excellent report! I am really impressed with the flanking move that put you to the rear of the column. Now, how long did it take you from the point where you moved east to the position right behind the column? I am amazed that you actually had enough time to do this. Also liked the idea to have USSDR provide a diversion that actually convinced blufor that there were more guys in town. It seems that everytime this mission is played a new tactic is implemented. Good job to both sides.

On a more serious note, please report those who are acting like idiots when seagulls. I saw in one of the videos that a seagull was buzzing you guys. If you have to, report everyone that is dead so proper action can be taken. It is truely sad that even to this point after endless warnings people are still acting like idiots. It is up to everyone to take responsibility and report such individuals. Thanks.

Re: Convoy Mission 1/09/09

The AA report forgets that we were down to 6 players from 12 due to drop outs in the planning stage and people crashing/losing connection. The most fun I have had playing ArmA in a long time. Great work from UDSSR, literally a one man army. He went without support the whole battle and was holding back Blufor on his own. I have to say that Rollo and nthamma/Liquid Snake were really great in the raid we did. We would have destroyed all three trucks if we didn't have such a sucky AT weapon, if anyone edits this mission changing back to RPG-7 instead of the 22 would help a lot as the 22 is useless. The seagulls were really annoying, especially when we were trying to remain unseen so close to the trucks.

Overall a great mission and great playing by all the opfor players.

Re: Convoy Mission 1/09/09

Great AAR. This is a prime example of a textbook flanking maneuver. Really impressed. Wish I was there.

And again, it as been said numerous time. If you can get the names of those who act like idiots when they're seaguls, go ahead and report the names to the admin. They'll deal with it. If Im present on the server and hold the title of voted admin, make sure to report any troublemakers to me. Im not affraid of kicking people who show little to no respect to those still playing.

Another reminder concerning seaguls: Please fly at atleast 50m above the action and try to interfere the less as possible to those who are still on the ground. A seagul flying around people can ruin the game for everybody. Please show respect to other players.

Great AAR!

One truck got away, but sadly the mission ended anyway. Two made it out of that flanking ambush, but I hit a mine in Corazol with a nice "little" fireball as the result. We hit the pedal to the metal as soon as the shooting started, hoping that you weren't just doing a diversion to get us into Corazol. Good to see it wasn't the case, but that we would have really been screwed if we'd stayed there.

I was watching the rear. I had just looked down the stairs and then a few moments later I'm on the floor.

I enjoyed the mission though despite not firing a shot!
