Re: AAR, TG Mod Pack Launch event
Great game!
Rustic done an excellent job being our SL.
I love the way we had to fly out to a different Island at the start and blow a radio tower while the other groups went inland.
Very good game, really enjoyed it! (Mainly because i lived :P )
Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for leading browna.

Re: AAR, TG Mod Pack Launch event
From a grunt's perspective it was very nice as well. Specially that first part of mission. We did awesome as far landing and waiting for other squads to land. Air squad looked sexy dropping us off.
Funny story coming up...
Second time around we were told to go to Tyrene or something like that. None of our squads have seen British uniform. Falcon and Socom agrees that LZ is hot. In that town heavy fighting is going on and we are there to give them support. To make matters worse LZ is not indicated by command so we have no idea what we are stepping into. Falcon says "This might be crazy. Get ready to fight right after jumping out."
Everybody's adrenaline is flowing with anticipation. Heli touches ground I see 4-5 darker uniforms running towards the chopper. I yell as well as other "Contacts danger close, bearing 140". I open up and down one. And I see an american soldier amongst them. Before this I am sure at least each of our squad members fired one shot towards that group. I yell "Whoa, friendlies... FRIENDLIES.". And I hear. "Whatta hell man, You shot my mate.".
But after everything is settled I did get TKed by a British.
Apart from power struggle up the chain, I enjoyed the event as a grunt.

Working on the video for it and I can say I got some great combat footage. I'll throw up a teaser before the full vid though.

Re: AAR, TG Mod Pack Launch event
I just want to say this. OVERALL we did very well. The first half of the mission went very smooth. The radar tower went down with no friendly KIA's and we picked up and moved on. From there it go a little bumpy. The main problem was the comms. We had a lot of SL's trying to organize their part of the fight with other SL's and it became RADIO CHAOS. There was NOT a power struggle but there was a commo pow- wow with the leadership. After this issue was settled we picked up and moved out and cleared the map. I will apologize for the people that i shot. My radar was very messed up and you where labeled as an enemy RPG person. So I am sorry please feel free to kick my butt the next time you see me but over all GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!

Re: AAR, TG Mod Pack Launch event
Damn I wish I could play A2 on Dreadlee's detail level one day. Amazing pics!
Here's what a C2D E6400, Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb and GIMP combo delivers:
Squadleader HOTMACHINA briefing us
Closeup of HOTMACHINA. Serious looking dude!
British troops with the war reporter
A British soldier awaiting for departure to combat
A Land Rover on overwatch, and that damn reporter again
Land Rovers and troops defending the village they just secured
The result of having a chopperfull of Americans with itchy trigger fingers landing near you
Even the reporter got his share of the action
Brits running towards enemy fire
My squadmates taking a peek at our objective

Re: AAR, TG Mod Pack Launch event
Despite some command and control troubles I still had a blast with this mission, thanks especially to my squad who were extremely good.
One of the best moments was as we were about to be extracted from the LZ Echo squad (call sign easy) was holding the right side of the LZ in a stand of trees. As socom made his approach about two squads of infantry came up over the hill rpg's glinting in the sun. I yelled at my team to suppress the ridge line and that they did. Over the command net I told the super-six elements to break off and that they LZ was not secure. socom in super-six-one was moments from touching down and he did a beautiful job at arresting his decent and breaking off away from the contact as tracers raced past his helicopter. It was a great piece of flying to watch!

Re: AAR, TG Mod Pack Launch event
Sorry im drunk now (Irish). I enjoyed this mission so much i was (like allways after an arma2 TG event) on an endorphin high and had to get a few beers into me and call my mate who cant run arma on his rig and envy's me but would love to play. One high point which i will remember for a long time was when we were 600 meters off the runway and my squad met up with a british squad. I walked up to one guy with my weapon on safe and saluted in his face, he saluted back....and we held it for about 6 seconds then de-saluted and went our seperate ways. I just thought it was so cool/funny/awesome. Fornicate i love TG.
