All ARMA 2 Videos thread

I figured we should start a thread with nothing but ARMA 2 vids. I just happen to notice there are a bunch on youtube I had never seen, like this one:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xvNBtd...eature=related

And that video was posted almost a year ago. Can't wait to see how good it looks now!
I am really liking the new ground textures.

Tons of other videos as well, but I'll let you guys find them and post your favs.

Re: All ARMA 2 Videos thread

Found this link to some actual in game footage shot right at the developers studio.

According to the write up , he was given permission to shoot and publish these videos.

They are a work in progress , showing the new interface (which looks as if it is used similar to PRM's only more terrain detail) , a video testing the destructive environment feature etc. etc.

ArmedA In Game Videos

I'm sure these are far from being the final product but gives you an idea of what one can expect.

Looking forward to this. Great anticipation.

Re: All ARMA 2 Videos thread

Beerhunter, that link sends me to the wrong video, but if you search for ARMA you actually get a lot of results for ARMA2 videos. Good ones too!

Thanks for the link to the site Beerhunter.

I even see a V-22 Osprey in one of them
Can't wait to fly that!!

Re: All ARMA 2 Videos thread

I've just watched it and.... It looks a lot better, in graphics.....

Every thing else looks just like arma, the squad he places moves the same way, didn't see them seeking cover, or firing suppressive fire.

The tanks that are in formation turn too fast and the trees still look like dominoes falling in front of them...

Argh! Too much expectations....

I do like the hand signals, they could be pretty useful.

There are menu commands to order the AI squads to take cover , fire on a target etc.

Think you have to command them just as you would human players otherwise all hell can break loose and they wonder around just like human players do without direction. (thank the gods for VAC ).

Far as the trees falling , at least they do unlike Red Orchestra where your tank stalls out trying to cross a picket fence.

Re: All ARMA 2 Videos thread

It does look more evolutionary then revolutionary but that isn't necessarely bad, just look at how much better ArmA is once the latest patch was released. Same game but much more enjoyable.

A few things I was not happy with in that latest video:

- dust , the amount of dust kicked up seemed to have nothing to do with the surface. There were huge billows of dust coming off the tanks driving on Tarmac!

- obstacles, I didn't see anyone climb over the small fences or low walls, annoying and restrictive.

- I didn't see the developer use free look or lean at all. I hope that they haven't been removed?

Overall though it looks really promising. I loved that the tanks were engaging at what seemed to be a further distance then now? The landscape looks great and should make infantry a little easier to move and stay behind cover.

Re: All ARMA 2 Videos thread

I've been busy and haven't been able to post this past week, but I am surprised no one posted about all the videos armaholic has up now:

ArmA_GC_1.mpg

Arma 2 "The vehicles" video

Arma 2 "hrej.cz preview" - Czech language

Arma 2 footage with Ivan Buchta - Czech language

Arma 2 "The Artificial Intelligence" video

Arma 2 "High Commander" video

That should keep you busy for a long while

New video just posted
Arma 2 "Planes and choppers" video

The choppers and all are cool, but best part is at the end with the player animations. Looking very good.
