Re: Debating on getting ArmA

My computer has an Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE, Intel Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4GHz(2 CPUS), 2046 ram. Would I be able to run Arma and if so on what settings? And if the settings are low would I still have alright view distances?

Re: Debating on getting ArmA

You look to have a good CPU and memory, but that graf. card would probably make the game look like a slide show.
If you can spend about $135 -$200 on a new graf. card, you would notice a huge difference in all the games that you play. Can point you in the right direction to which cards if you need help.

Re: Debating on getting ArmA

there has been alot of talk about Arma over on the PR forums, and it got me interested in this...first i LOVE PR, and if arma is more tactical and realistic, i want to check it out.

i see here that there are co-op missions and TvT missions: how does that work, and what do you guys tend to play?

i assume there is a TG serevr?

and lastly...will i be a total noob at this game? and what is the learning curve like?

thanx in advance

Re: Debating on getting ArmA

In reverse order:

The learning curve is very steep, but once you break it, you're good to go.

TG does indeed have a server.

Mission designers can put AI into a mission; most of ours are Cooperative missions against and sometimes with AI. The AI works the same for either team. TvT missions also use AI sometimes, but never in a critical role as far as I've seen.

ArmA is orders of magnitude more realistic; games in and of themselves aren't more tactical, so I'll leave it to you to decide the answer to that question.

It's good to have you on, buddy. Even at Low, ArmAs graphics are still pretty good. I played on Low for about a year before upgrading.

Re: Debating on getting ArmA

Likewise I am seriously considering getting Arma. Got a new PC built and I'd love get back in on some tactical gaming. I have some questions though...

1. Should I get the Gold version?
2. Is there any advantages/disadvantages to getting it on Steam, as well I see Steam does not have the Gold version.

Thanks!

We don't use Queen's Gambit.

Re: Debating on getting ArmA

If you guys get the GOLD version you'll still need the beta patch to update to 1.11
