Re: ArmA Squad Leadership - current and future

I'm with Jex.

Just coming up to my 32nd year in the Royal Navy. The one thing a shooting match has shown me in all that time, is that the "manual" goes out the window the moment the shooting starts.

Discipline, quick thinking, good comms , good intel, teamwork, and a steady hand at the healm work wonders.

Fuzz et al,

Evening Fellas & Ladies,

I have played with many of you over the last few weeks and I am happy to take Fire Team, Squad or Platoon Command roles. Some missions go well others.....not so, but hey thats why we keep coming back for more.

The TG servers have become my ARMA home and have enjoyed some great nights games playing with many of you.

Here's to many more.

Best

Re: ArmA Squad Leadership - current and future

As much as I hate to admit, I'm more than capable of leading platoon sized operations. I'm sure I can get a few to vouch for me but it seems like almost ever time NoDebate gets on, he leads anywhere from two fire teams to two squads. I just got done with a grueling three hours of PltCOing (with pubbies nonetheless) and I am tired. Yelling at people with out headsets to get something done can usually get you tired fast. I need more talkers! :-P

Anyway, perhaps I get in some SLing over the weekend if I can make the event (for once).

I find commanders that talk about themselves in 3rd person often have unexpectd friendly fire incidents.

Jex feels your pain and without good FTL'ers, it tends to be too much hassle and ceases to be a "game".

I will try to lead. It's been awhile but I think I still remember how to command units.

Yeah and people who hint at killing their platoon leaders tend to get the blindfold and cigar, then are lined up and shot.

Re: ArmA Squad Leadership - current and future

bumpity bump....

ARMA on Svr2 is humming along guys. Read the latest aar's and other assorted posts. If you are lurking about but haven't joined up in a while now's the time.

I'll gladly lead a fire team and take up platoon command on an occasional round.

I encourage you newer players to take up some FT leader duties. With the crew we've got coming on almost nightly it's as easy as pie. Everyone follows orders and there's no shortage of qualified people happy to help you out. The more leaders we have on board the better the game play will be.

Re: ArmA Squad Leadership - current and future

I'm quite happy with my MG, but if things get desperate I could probably manage a fireteam.
