Re: New to ARMA

Managed to get a game with some TG guys last night on an Evo server, can’t remember all names but Fenian420 (sorry for the tk), Xmaster and Iceman were all playing. Would just like to apologise for the lack of communications. I had endless trouble with Teamspeak and ended up talking to myself most of the night. Don’t know what the problem was but now re-installed and it seems to be working.

As you might have gathered by the poor score I’m still very new to the game. I really enjoyed the game although I didn’t contribute much to completing the objective. Hope to get in some more games and significantly improve my contribution.

Once again apologies for lack of comms.

Re: New to ARMA

I was sat in the channel listening in, and heard you on TS (as did all the others) just before you called it a night Sabre. To be honest, when I didn't hear you in the TS channel, I thought you were using the ingame VoIP instead.

If you want TeamSpeak users to be overlaid over ArmA while you are playing, visit my downloads page, its on Downloads page 4 (along with TS Disp, if TSO robs to many FPS's).

Yeah it was a little strange. As I mentioned at the weekend I used to use voice activation but changed to push to talk for the TG Teamspeak server. Knowing me it was probably just me pressing the wrong PTT key half the night. I did get a response late on so I must have got it right at least once :-)

I've tried setting up my G9 mouse with PTT on the forward side button but that doesn't work! I'll check it out later when in from work. I could here people clearly but didn't seem to be conveying messages. Anyway half the time I was just saying I died again!!!!!

Re: New to ARMA

I hear you with the mouse button thingy. I own a Razr Death Adder, and the fwd button doesn't want to know with ArmA either.

I have read something somewhere about these buttons not working and why. But can't for the life of me remember where (sigh, old age and me altzheimers)!

Same with an MX510. Forward button doesn't work in ArmA, no matter what.

Re: New to ARMA

I have the MX510 and all buttons work in arma. I have the forward thumb set up to change comm channels and the back thumb as push to talk.

If you can't get it to run natively, just get uberoptions.

Thanks for the link but uberoptions doesn't work with setpoint 5 for the G9 mouse. Just my luck I guess.

Heh, all good about the tk and stuff.. Part of the learning process is all, you get used to it, get more experience which brings a lot more fun/teamwork so even though it seems like fun right now wait till the real battlezones start and you know 100% what your doing..

Yeah looking forward to it, seems like a way to go at the minute but I'll get there, plus I seem to have resolved comms issue so that should help also.

Re: New to ARMA

Quick question, what version does the server run. 1.09 or 1.12?

Re: New to ARMA

1.12, I think TG will just about always be playing its server on the latest ArmA beta patch update...

Re: New to ARMA

Best thing I would say is go to the My Missions in the single player selection and set up a couple of missions for yourself just to play around. Get the feel for it again, and then jump in on multi-player.

The My Missions part of the game is pretty cool.
