Re: ArmedA 2 or OFP 2?? Which one?

I honestly did not know that, and it does change my opinion of the matter. It's also got me wondering if they'd be able to swing inter-platform multiplayer.

I wouldn't count on it. The few games that do work that way (I can only think of one) don't do it well.

OFP was Back Ported which is Great...but to do it in reverse has been seldom done well. I guess just as long as they don't FUBAR the controls we should be ok.... The 360 is a much better platform then the XBOX was/is...

Ok... I am semi-erect... (can I type that on a family friendly forum?) .. .but don't those shots look rendered or "artistic rendidtions.".. I cannot believe that anything in the next 5 years will give you wide open OFP game environment with those graphics.. but I am a pessimist..

From that link...

There's a feeling you get when playing Operation Flashpoint that no game since has managed to capture. Not even Oblivion. The feeling of being a real person, alone, in a dangerous place, and each step you take across the game's huge landscape could well be your last. You agree?
No. Try playing armed assault you twat.

These game reviewers are idiots these days - do they actually know what they're talking about?

Re: ArmedA 2 or OFP 2?? Which one?

How do you play something like ArmedA or OFP on a console??

Remembering keyboard layouts is hard enough but something like "push X twice , L Fire Button once" ?? Don't own a console but the few games I've tried on them left me with a headache and finger cramps.

And as far as game reviewers go .. yes..they are all idiots. Flash and dash is what they seem to base their reviews on (kinda like BS baffles brains) not the actual game play the player has to contend with. Simply don't trust them anymore..not since BF2 and CoD4 (Saving grace for BF2 was PRM and CoD4 is just a bad memory collecting dust somewhere in my pile of discarded games).

And those "screen shots" are either Photo Shop renderings or I'm going to need one hell of an upgrade , probably a new circuit for the computer and possibly a new transformer on the power pole to run the thing half ways decently.

Looking forward to ArmedA 2 though.

Yea I'm guessing those screenshots are some video that details what happened to get to where you are and what you need to do. I'd doubt those are the actual in game graphics...

Re: ArmedA 2 or OFP 2?? Which one?

You guys do have to realize that codemasters have created two very solid games. Dirt and GRID are both titles that have done well, and I believe they are using the same engine for OFP 2. It's just a matter of how tactical and realistic they make it out to be...

For thoes who haven't played either title you can get a glimpse of the engine here (GRID)

Re: ArmedA 2 or OFP 2?? Which one?

Ah I didn't know that, but even still (though I do believe that those actually may be in game now (though notice the hand resting on the stone wall in one of the screenshots) I'd bet it does still have frequent lag if its going on the 360 and maybe even the PS3.. Computers will cost a ****load to run it well...

Edit: Also those two racing games they created well they are some of the best graphics I've seen (GRID in particular, havent played it just demo and havent played Dirt though it looks nice) the games I'm assuming would be a tonne less stressful than a game like arma but with those graphics.

Re: ArmedA 2 or OFP 2?? Which one?

I have ofp on xbox its a really good game it was realistic and all but no mods at all. The only downside to buying the consle version is your going to miss out on all the great mods. As for ofp I dont think it will turn out to be that great. Bis made ofp and ArmA which are great but they have their bugs and such. Aswell it has been promised that all arma mods can be easily ported to ArmA 2 so that will be great to see all that content from ArmA within the first week of realese of ArmA 2. Also OFP2 promised a lot of stuff that I doubt codemasters could ever achive. So for me its safe to say Im sticking with ArmA 2 for the PC also everyone start playing ArmA more on the TG server its getting lonley

I hope they do not make an arcade game as Dirt and Grid, those two have nothing of realistic or simulation in them.

But their sales are bigger then any other sim racing game....

The only thing that makes arma2 a best choice is that it is made over VBS2, and that my friends is tactical and realistic.

Wonder if ArmedA 2 will come with functioning brake lights and turn signals like VBS2 has..
