Well, now I'm confused. Because not only did Robert reply to my support inquiry with a CD key, I just now also received the original confirmation email again but this time with a cd key. Oh and different from the one that Robert sent me. heh.

So you have a spare key eh?

Well, I cant confirm the version number as I can't run my version......

I installed and verified my Install, but when running Arma I recieve this error...

"warning: preNLOD format in object ca\wheeled\flag_alone.p3d"

Have desinstalled, wiped directory and reinstalled 3 times now.

Tried applying patches, but i believe its vers 1.02 (patch tells me) but not been able to check ingame obviously.

Got new Drivers (video and audio).

Can anyone help?

Yes BHack the downloads are usually patched to the latest version. Once the game is loaded, the version is shown at the bottom of the screen.

Glad you two chaps got your CD Keys (even though BHack got two)!

Hi Lok - sorry to hear you are still having snags.

Not sure what Video Card you have, but uninstall the Drivers again following the instructions here (if you have an ATI Card): https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...on_install.pdf

Then update to DirectX 9.0c (latest update was December 2006) obtainable from here : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Well, yesterday I sent a email to Sprocket Support and some guy named Robert replied to me today. It was fast support and all except for one thing, the email was sent in Czech, and not English......

Dl'ed the dx install, but all me other drivers (Nvidia/Audigy) are current.

Ill let you know what happens. (update : tried but still same error)

As to DG, I also recieved a confirmation that my problem had been delt with but was in Czech and eng. That was an automated email methinks.

Robert sent me my key, but in eng.

Tried anything like bablefish to translate it?

Well, I got Arma working, but had to get hold of a torrent (I won't post how to get it here) and copied the wheeled.pbo from that version to mine.

I don't know if this is going to cause errors or stop me online but, its a fix for now.

I'd rather have a proper and legit solution though.

I replied. Letting them know I am enjoying the game, and thanks for resolving my issue. However, over on Tactical Gamer there is a thread running, where people are still having Sprocket related issues. Is there anychance anyone from IDEA-Games can pop in to the thread and help. (I copied the link to this thread in to my email. You never know, someone from IDEA might come to the rescue).

I know Placebo was quite active for BIS, but unfortunately he has now left the company.

Hope your game runs OK Lok. And I hope DG manages to get his email translated (the one I received was in Cz with an En translation)

I have had a good evenings play and i love it too.

Except I CTD once every 10 - 15 mins...

and now I have another problem.

I cant run arma at all now. Just decided to stop.

I now get the error(s).....

I have reinstalled but still the same error

I'm the admin, so it's not that.

The demo runs fine, VBS1 runs fine.

Starforce/softwrap problem? [Edit - Just found out that the protection on the Czech version IS Softwrap and apparently not Starforce.......]

When you start the application, one or more of the following messages appear:

"Critical Softwrap Error"

"Softwrap file error4"

"Error: Inconsistent files"


After the OK button is clicked, the application closes.

RESOLUTION:



This error occurs when the license store files have been modified or removed. These files are stored in the Shared Documents folder on Windows XP and the Public folder on Windows Vista.


The license files contains information about the purchase status of the Digitope software installed on your computer. The applications cannot run if these files have been modified in any way.

This problem can usually be resolved by restarting the application. The license store will be rebuilt. Please note that you will lose any remaining trial period and will need to reenter your license key if you purchased the application.


If this does not resolve the problem, please contact Technical Support, giving details of the problem and your computer's configuration.

No reply.

Just sent some more.

How difficult is it to email someone and at least tell them that you are looking into the problem?

At least I'd know that even if I had to wait, something was being done.

Sorry, but I'm now getting annoyed.

I've had a computer since 1980 and Ive never had this much grief from a prog/support as this.

Damn shame, because the online experience I had for the short time I was on, was splendid.
