Re: Demo Release

In case you did not know, the Demo has been updated.

I tried getting 103_5114 going, but when I clicked on the program to start running, the following window comes up:
ArmADemo.exe-Unable ot Locate Componet.

Inside the window reads the following:

"This application has failed to start because IFC22.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problom."

Re-installing seems not to help.

I need some support.

Re: Demo Release

You aren't supposed to install the application you need to copy the files over the old files in the original install. It's in the README I believe.

Re: Demo Release

Thanks for the feedback

How does one do this?

I have the new file ArmDemo 103_5114 copied, I do not know what to do from there.

Sadly a few steps will need to be documented in order for me to accomplish this.

Re: Demo Release

Extract the files to a folder on your desktop

Open up My computer and navigate to your ArmA installation directory. It will probably be c:/Program Files/Bohemia Interactive/ArmA

Inside the ArmA Directory you will find the .exe file. Copy the new .exe file from your desktop folder to this directory. Windows will complain that you are trying to overwrite a file.

The other files are in one of the folders beneath this one. I don't remember which on and I am not at my machine to test it. Look in the sub folders for files with the same names as the ones in the desktop folder you created. Copy the new files over the old ones.

That should take care of it.

Re: Demo Release

Just patched and they definitely addressed the issue of grass/foilage sending your soldier into super-slow-motion mode. That was the biggest flaw with the demo, IMO, and it's been fixed, apparently. Good stuff.

Re: Demo Release

Just put in the latest patch _5116.

This just in, the Fire team option is very elegant.

Makes perfect sence.

highlight the player and then scroll to assign. From here your have around six choices.

blue
red
Green
yellow
white
can't remember.

I you want to have more of a resonsiblility, pick the top three positions. If you want to make like a grunt and be the one to do the dirty work and get the job done, take the last positions before the coop game begins.

If playing with bots, make the second and third players in command the fire team leaders. This way, when you send a fire team out they will follow their fire team leader in order of rank.

The only catch with the latest patch is that before I join a game this funky window opens up (from game) and all this stuff is read off. I click o.k. and it seems to work.

Awsome work Armed Assault crew!!

I have the same issue. Tells me a certain file is missing. Does everyone get this with the new demo?

I'm getting it to. I didn't catch the name of the file but I tend to remember it had something to do with the controls mapping. Everything seems to work but I do get this message.
