Re: Thoughts on the "ArmaInteractive" Campaign?

Fair enough, that is your opinion and I can respect that. However if you think that just because we face one team against the other, there is no cooperation and sportsmanship between the teams, you are very mistaken and yuo don’t know our members to make that accusation.

Also have fun with NATO and killing bots.

Widow is not an admin, he is however a Colonel in the 82nd Airborne (fictional). I don’t know if he has military experience, I do know he is an officer of the law.

As for me, I do not have previous military experience. I am a nerd . 3 out of the 4 of my partners have military experience. One was a Lt in the Hungarian army. He served in Bosnia. Another was enlisted and worked on Hueys. The other was in the service ( I cant remember what though).

We'll see. Or rather, you and the ArmAInt people will see.

I'm sure that whatever path my group and I choose will be entertaining. I'm more than familiar with playing adversarial OFP, and I have no doubt that I will be doing a great deal of it in ArmA as well. Whether or not NATO plays adversarial isn't even relevant. In any case, the sheer scope of an epic cooperative mission with good AI scripting dwarfs most adversarial missions (as much as I do enjoy them). Given the choice between playing with my group, playing joint sessions with TacticalGamer, or NATO, or Zeus, CiA, etc, or doing pay-to-play, I think it's an easy answer for me and many others. For the unaffiliated players who don't know how easy it is to get involved with a good (free) group and have a lot of fun like that, I'm sure ArmAInt will be seen as an appealing option.

I asked mainly because he sent me an e-mail listing himself as 82nd Airborne, in a fairly misleading way. As prior military myself, I don't like seeing people sign their e-mails with a military rank or unit designation that they were never actually a part of (unless they make it clear that it's an "in-game" rank). Pet peeve of mine, and I'm sure more than a few other prior-service guys.

You did when you described my people as "win at all costs". That's beside the point.

It is not my place to monitor their posting. If they wish to display their tags outside the tournament, that's their business. Frankly, you should take that as a sign of their devotion to the tournament. I am actually quite pleased.

As for his military background, I don’t know. You would have to ask him.

I don't take it that way, but that's beside the point, and beyond the scope of this conversation. I've said my part, you've said yours, and I'm going to agree to disagree with you. Good luck with ArmAInt.
