Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
Greetings, Gentlemen. I had my first real introduction to ArmA yesterday thanks to AtomicDog, Gogeta, Adept and several others that I am sorry I can't properly recognize and I had a blast! I am hooked and will definitely be back to play on the TG server in the future. I still have a lot to learn and will probably play very basic role in game until I get the feel for the game and get more comfortable with the controls but I'm here to stay.
To Gogeta, Adept and whomever else was with us playing Evolution, thanks for showing me the ropes and I apologize for dropping out on you during the cleanup of the city. I was having trouble with my mouse and eventually crashed to desktop and had to reinstall my Set Point software. I had a great time trying to make it past the enemy patrols and armor to get to the radio tower and then thinning their ranks afterwards. I will definitely be back for more!

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
Hey Guys, my name's Charity Case and I'm fairly new to TG and totally new to ArmA. Ever since ArmA first came out, I've been considering getting it, but the bugs and lack of polish put me off. Now that patch 1.11 has come out, I no longer have that excuse. And, being the impulsive fool that I am, I just purchased ArmA on steam and I expect to have it running by tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll see some of you Saturday evening.
I've been very active in the TG Project Reality community, but I think ArmA will be a better fit for my style of play. In PR, I'm a fairly competent squad leader, but I don't expect those skills will transfer easily to ArmA. Although, once I acclimate to ArmA, I hope to take a leadership role. Also, I'll make sure to review the rules and SOPs before I hit the sever. Hope to meet you all soon, Charity

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
Just got the game up and running this past weekend and played a co-op mission with some of the TG guys Sunday afternoon. Reminds me of the old Ghost Recon days several years back!
1. In-game Name "NippleCorn" 2. Any group affiliation? No. 3. Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint? No. 4. Are you active in any other games at TG? Not at the moment. 5. Any interest in mission editing/scripting? Not at the moment. 6. Any real world Military experience? Nope. Anyway I'm still learning the ins and outs of the game. I'm currently running through the single player campaign and having a blast! Although I keep getting killed on the water tower trying to snipe 50 enemies from way too far away... See y'all later NC |

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
In game name -AaR-
Greetings all! After 8 months (about) of absence from Arma due to comp problems, I finally return! I can't wait to get back into it. I have been a member of the TG community for a relatively short about of time, around a year I think, and played Arma for about a month before my comp decided it didn't like it. I play (intermittently) BF2, BF 2142, Project Reality, CS:S, TF2, and NS quite often on TG servers (in fact, they are the only servers I play on...). Before my game died on me, I was a backup helicopter pilot, proficient in the use of MH6 helicopters and capable of using UH-60's nicely as well. On the ground, I am more of a designated marksmen then an assaulter, specializing in medium range engagements and defensive warfare. My primary calling is Transport Helicopters though, a job that I am alright in, but love to do. Keep me away from armor, and ground vehicles and we should do alright (Oh, and don't let me near unguided infantry high explosives either if you value your squad). Can't wait to play with you all. I apologize in advance for killing all of you in my chopper. |
