Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.

I am not only new to ArmA, but also to TG and playing ArmA on TG. So im pretty much the ultimate newbie. I enjoy pretty much anything in ArmA particularly being an infantry grunt. I can also fly almost anything but nothing particularly well. my in game name is Luke. Thats about it.

Welcome to TG ARMA!
As for the BF deal... Who knows..Maybe the server was full and you were kicked for a Supporting (AKA Subscribing) member? You get a pretty generic message for that...

See ya on ARMA!

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.

In-game Name

TG Toshido

Any group affiliation? (ShackTac, Clan)

Ignore what the memer since says, been on and off Tactical gamer for pretty much 8 years. Was a huge Ghost recon fan back in the days when GR and NS were just about the only things on TG

Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint?

Very limited with OPF. Just got a computer set u that can handle AA so I plan on divorcing wife and marrying AA for awhie at least. Likely have to abondon my 2 year old as well.

Are you active in any other games at TG?

Not really currently. Looking forward to R6 Vegas and Forza on the 360 with TG members. Did play a few sessions of SWAT 4 awhie back. Was a SM for Falcon 4 Allied force. A little dabble in BF2, and CS. Used to play GR religously years ago with TG.

Any interest in mission editing/scripting?

A little bit but no time or talent. Prefer to spend my time playing.

Any real world Military experience?

No.

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.

Hello all,

1. In-game Name: Kerberos
2. I have no clan or affiliation
3. I finished the single player campaigns on OFP, and I think I'm on the last mission of ArmA, but no multi-player experience
4. I played Project Reality for a while and probably will again when I get around to reinstalling bf2. I also just installed bf2142 and I have company of heroes, SWAT 4, and I recently got Falcon 4 allied force (I'm a little behind the times with that one it seems). Of those, i've only ever played PR on a TG server.
5. No interest in mission editing/scripting
6. No real world Military experience

I should also mention that I've never used teamspeak or anything similar before (i don't think skype counts), so I apologize in advance for being slow to respond, garbled, quiet, etc.

Is there a specific codec I should use in teamspeak, or is that just for the local test?

Nice to be back. Always been floating around spying on you guys but until recently I did not have the horsepower to play, well just about anything.

Got myself a rig now that can play AA reasonably, not perfect but I really like it. LOVING the 22" widescreen LCD moniter

But man, this game is going to take some getting used to.

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.

Hello all - my first post here. Came across this forum and looked really interesting, I like the idea of a more realistic style of play.

Still working my way through the basics at the moment and through the TTP guide but 1.08 looks great on first impressions.

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.

Hello Gentlemen

May I introduce to you........ Sgt Pepper's lonely nah

1. In game name:
Barnaby plus the |TG| tag of course

2. Last 3-4 years I have been with the VS-UK clan but while not a strickly necessary requirement to join TG I have decided to leave and devote my time to Tactical Gamer being a better fit to my ideas.

3. Some small Experience with OFP but mainly did Allied Assault, Spear head, CoD UO and laterly CoD2, did some league match stuff with Spearhead & CoD2
My experience with Armed Assault:
Downloaded just before Christmas 2006 the German version I think, upgraded it to English then bought the new English disc release and upgraded to 1.08 just recently.
VS-UK have a training programme which covers each section in 3 stages. ie Infantry 1, 2, 3 with 3 being the basic you know THIS IS MY FINGER THIS IS MY GUN stuff, and 1 doing the most complex manouvers possible. There were separate sections covering Armour, Pilot, Sniper, special forces and Commanding etc. all following this same principle.
I was working my way up through the program.

Sounds good don't it -- only problem was we didn't get enough regular players and the public became a spoiler.

4. Positions and roles you enjoy playing:
Transport/Attack – Happy playing any role going really but want to get into aircraft a bit more as flying was/is a love of mine.
Presently prefer doing supporting infrantry rolls.
Suffer a bit of lag from the UK so flying is a bit of a no no I think but your game play still makes all that well worth while.

5. Missions you have created and/or creating:
None.
6. Real World Military Experience: Some, did a few years in 3 Para UK I'm and old Un this was late 60's.

Cheers
Banaby out
