Re: Next Scheduled session

Co-Op with NO respawn. This game has given TG an opportunity to get back to its roots. And yes, gentlemen, that means valuing your life and playing accordingly.

If you have issues with dying rapidly and frequently, slow down and put a little more thought into your movements and game tactics/strategy.

CO-OP no respawn.

If we go TvT, then I'd like to see a specific objective...not a non-stop human wave BF2 mission. For example, Team A: Recover and extract POW, Team B: Hold POW. No respawn.

So far 28 folks have voted. I prefer COOP no respawn. COOP we can adjust better for the actual numbers that show up for the session. I will be looking at possible missions for both COOP and TvT. Remember, if we don't find a campaign style then there is no reason we couldn't do both in one evening.

I agree with Khan. No respawn. Let's value our virtual lives and be more careful. It will be more challenging to have only one life to live before sitting it out. Definitely will change our style of play. Of course I'm saying this because it's the way I play games. I hate dying!

Re: Next Scheduled session

How about TvT with no respawn? Thats about as realistic as it gets.. No respawns may be realistic, but getting sniped through a door/tree/bush by a psychic AI 500m away definately isnt.

And here's the bold left side statement!

Hey come on guys, Evo ain't THAAAAAAT BAAAAAAAAD. It's a good basis for basic teamwork and is good for the comings in goings of our many members in this large community. Perhaps if there was more intelligent AI........

^^^^ Just in case :P

Oh my vote was for TVT I'm sick of EVO! Vote 36 and TVT is leading! (w00t! \o/)

Re: Next Scheduled session

If there are any lopsided TvT missions that'd be fun.

One unit is tasked with defending a city while another is challenged with clearing it.

It'll be like clearing an evo city, except there wont be ai bots responding predictably. There will be noobzors responding predictably. And me.

Also, for 1 life missions --- transport pilots must be soberish.

Re: Next Scheduled session

I have a suggestion for this week:

Return Home v3

This map has been played 2 or 3 times this week giving some players a basic familiarity with it, but not making it "tired" like Evo. I know it isn't a no-respawn as everyone is requesting, but I worry about throwing out a mission that people have never seen before for an event. Organization is already difficult in ArmA without having everyone trying to figure out what they need to do.

I know TvT is winning in the polls (and I voted for it), but I haven't seen any really great missions for it and for TvT it would be best for both sides to have played it at least once to get some background prior to the event.

Re: Next Scheduled session

I dunno playing it 3 times this week, taking 5 hrs 57 mins, 4 hrs 41 mins, and 6 hrs and 21 mins gets a little tiring, ya know? :P

Re: Next Scheduled session

NoDebate, did you not play the last COOP evo session with us? It started at 20:00 eastern and went on into the wee hours of the morning. About the same time and we were no where near done with it.

I've just been provided with some missions that we'll review and get up to test as soon as possible. They should be right up our alley.

Re: Next Scheduled session

Back in December we were playing a mission that started out with two teams and two objectives...One objective started at a Barn (was it recovering a pilot or killing an officer--I forget) and the other team was tasked at attacking a fortified industrial facility simultaneously. It might be on the short side..I'd defer to Strag for the details...

Or ...it might be fun to run TWO shorter missions instead of one longer one...that'd give the euro population a chance to finish one of the maps...that's always nice....I'm game for anything but do want to say....let's get this event up on a weekly or biweekly schedule.

Re: Next Scheduled session

The other day I was playing a TvT that was quite fun. I think Coop- No respawn is a good idea. but as Aculle said in a different post. it just doesn't represent the same challenge as a TvT.

anywho with the mission;
It Includes Civilians(insurgents) and the Regular army. Insurgents get the benefit of numbers and 4 Carbombs. it doesn't take very long to finish. but might not be the best start in a TvT.

another good one includes a smaller sized island and each team starting out on one side of the island. In the middle is a large Valley and the Battles between the two ridges are.............Epic, you might say.

If you're talking about the ShackTac mission "Insurgent Assault", it's one of the ones I sent to tHa_KhAn.

If you're familiar with our other missions, I sent these as well:
st_co_53_RACs1
st_co_48_ConventionalWarfarev2
st_co_52_Corazol_Front3
st_bd_32_MOUTMovement
st_a&d_90_IslaDelVassal
