Poll Of Game-Type Interest
I'm concluding the major development work on a project designed to create a persistent TvT world here at Tactical Gamer. What I would like to know is what the current TG player base is interested in playing inside the framework that TG Domination creates.
Rather than just post a poll here. I wanted to get some more detailed feedback on your specific valuations of these game-types. For example if you had 100 points, how would you allocated them between the various modes of play. This should be interesting. Nice use of a poll!
I filled out the poll assuming a persistent mission, but I think my numbers would be quite different for "one-shot" missions. I like a respawn time of around 5 minutes. If we have a persistent TvT CTI type scenario then that is about 10+ minutes to return to your squad. I think travel time to the front should influence the spawn timer...if it's a 1 minute walk, then a much longer spawn timer should be used. etc. etc. One thing I do find a little confusing is how would limited respawns/no respawns work within a persistent mission framework?

suvey done--thanks for working so hard to make TG missions Shiner.
I'm for long or limited respawn myself. 3-5 minutes. I put 240 seconds as it's the median between the two.

Done.. Although I do like CoOp.. I really like TvT.. nothing is more challenging then hunting down other players who are looking for you too.
I voted a full five minutes. regardless of travel time, five minutes is a good length for a "time-out" for the dead. I like the longer spawn time on the EVO server right now.. It could be longer IMO.. It gives the dead a chance to think about the actions that got them killed... or get a drink, hit the head, have a smoke.. give the wife some quality time ![]()

I gave TvT 100%
No respawn 80% Limited longer respawn 20% Respawn depends on the kind of mission, if the mission area is very large with no respawn and most people are killed, basically what the rest will be spectating is "lone wolfing" between very few players. Not much teamwork involved any more. However is the objective area is relatively compact I prefer no respawn, to get everyone on their toes and their heads down. About respawn time, as said by Jamerica it depends on travel time to the action. Also I think vehicle respawn time is more important since that promotes people traveling back to the front in groups. |

Respawns should be cumulative - as in, first respawn = 30 seconds, second 60, next 90, 120 .. so on.
I have no interest in immediate respawn, nor interest in no respawn. We must let people join and re-join the game. |

Now that's very interesting AMosely.
I wonder how difficult that would be to implement. IN TvT it could still be abused in the begining by teams rushing knowing full well that they would get a quick respawn in the first instance. So I suggest we slide the times up the scale to start at 3 mins for a respawn then plus 30 secs each time after that.
