How?
On this day, NoDebate took the reigns as commander of a group of 12 TG'ers (Silas,SixWinged, Sam Hoy, Angel Of Death, barnaby, Jex, Squinty, Insanitrix, Bunnypunk and Crane (and a couple of others who were in and out of game), and led them to a successful mission across the northern Island of Sahrini. NoDebate had his work cut out for him becasue he was dealing with many Map newbies and multiple objectives over strange territory. This three hour + gaming session included an ambush by 6+ T-72 tanks at one point. NoDebate was able to disable one of the tanks himself and convinced the squad to retreat when the time was correct. Also note that NoDebate kept the map continually updated with markers and kept communication clear and concise. This was a fine example or ARMA at TG and the way it should be played.

We initially started testing some theories discussed in the discussion about air support, some worked some didn't. However, Toshido took a whole new approach to the CAS role. He began providing detailed over watch reports via Text so everyone was aware of the situation. Not only did he include enemy positions and armor(without engaging) he provided friendly locations and movements as well. Whenever he could he would mark hostile targets, inform the closest friendly squad and offered assistance. Depending on the situation, an Engage order was given to him for marked targets. The few contacts he engaged without direct request from ground squads, he repeated his intended target and repeatedly requested confirmation of friendlies nearby. Then where broadcast a warning as he limited these engagement to minigun runs to avoid as much accidental collateral damage as possible.

He proved that CAS has many uses and proved that Text can be a very effective communication medium. His confirmations were the only real commander channel traffic. I think he deserves the medal for the exceptional use of comms while providing air support.

Keep the recommendations coming guys!!

Re: Awards for NoDebate and Toshido

Thank you very much. That day was fun hitting Cayo (my fav CAS target) and worked out perfect until I jumped the gun and sprayed a friendly squad at the end of the day (oops).

Thanks again.
