Now, the meaningless poll has 470 voters which gives it some credibility in my eyes.
470 people voting on a niche site isn't a terribly huge amount of credibility.

The claim everyone seems to make about bohemia is that they just need the money to keep developing (or so thats the queens gambit excuse I hear). If their current consumer base is just enough to scrape by, losing 20% of them is going to really sting, and potentially losing 60% is going to kill.
So they'll lose 20% (by your claim, basing off of a poll that is of questionable accuracy at best) of their PC userbase and gain a huge amount of console sales? Yes, sounds like a death knell if I've ever heard one.

So, I say again, ARMA II is likely to fail. I don't say this because I'm certain that it will be a bad game. It could be great, i don't know. I say this because ARMAI has been pretty poor in the stability/performance department and when given a choice between code masters or bohemia, I'm reluctant to give bohemia another chance.
ArmA 2 is likely to fail because you personally do not plan to purchase it. Ok.

Keep waiving your pompoms if you like, but dont act so offended every time someone says something reasonable but unflattering about ARMA. I play the game, and I like it, but I'm not going to ignore its many, many shortcomings.
You must not pay much attention to me. I have plenty of complaints with ArmA and I've voiced them many, many times before. I've never claimed it's perfect or even up to par, so if your angle on me is that I'm a "Bohemia cheerleader", you've really missed the mark. On this particular topic, I've been around games long enough to know that making bold claims about whether X or Y game will reign supreme at such an early stage is rather useless. It's amusing to me that you're so dead-set on it being a failure based on knowing... well, almost nothing. But hey, if you feel the desperate need to proclaim a victor at this far-too-early stage, don't let me stop you.

Re: What's the story with ArmA2? Plz inform me!

ArmA II has the potential to become quite a game. However BIS hasn't showed much yet, but it's not like there is any pressure on them.

Seeing there is nothing at all of use to read or see about OFP2 they don't have any real competitors.

And personally I don't think this gaming genre are losing players. Rather the contrary. The only ways for BIS to lose a lot of customers for ArmA II are that either OFP2 becomes a boom and every tactical gamer's wet dream, or that ArmA II is released in a even more buggy state than ArmA or OFP.
Since I don't really see the latter happening we can only wait and see what Codemasters brings with OFP2.

I don't have any preference at the moment myself. One knows way too little about any of the titles, so at the moment we can just wait and see.

Re: What's the story with ArmA2? Plz inform me!

My point is that Bohemia has done a terrible job with arma and has not earned the trust of their consumer base for their next title. In that regard, they are destine to have a failed opening as long as people have a valid alternative (OFP2). Video games seem to me to be similar to movie premiers. The more people that purchase them right away, the better they do in the long run. The word of mouth that generates when everyone and their brother is playing a game on the first week is what gets all those non-believers to buy the game (along with game reviews and a developer history).

Also, you brought up console sales. When did consoles enter this discussion. Is ARMA II going console?

Now, you keep replying with hostility like I'm bashing you by saying what I think.
If you wanted to, you could have said," I disagree because x y z." instead you come out swinging with sarcastic comments and anger towards me. You are behaving like an arma cheer leader. If thats not who you are, then stop acting like it. Save your sarcasm and make valid points.

Yes, I would have assumed that you would know this considering how readily you're willing to make claims about the two games.

You're welcome to perceive whatever you'd like in this exchange. I don't have a great deal of respect for your opinion, mainly because you're outright proclaiming failure based on flawed reasoning combined with a lack of knowledge about either title as well as the simple fact that we are way too far from release to have a good picture of the benefits of one over the other. You call me a BIS cheerleader - in turn, I suppose I'll just call you a BIS doomsayer or a Codemasters cheerleader.

I don't know why you feel compelled to make a final judgment in this situation when there is without question not enough info to make an informed judgment.

I've had enough talks with you, lets save all our future interactions for when I'm aiming at you.
