Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
Many of you will have played my "Operation Foothold" mission on our ArmA1 servers, it was a boat insertion mission to capture and clear the island of Rahmadi, taking the airstrip, radio tower, etc etc....
Look what's appeared on the BiS Forum...
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=78963
Aside from the map change, the principle of the mission is exactly the same and this cheeky sod is passing it off as his own idea!!!
Nice!!!
Ahhh well, I guess I should be flattered!!

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you could rebalance yourself in the checkbooks of the ArmA2 gods by making a few missions... ; )

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
I played this arma2 version, thinking it was the one from arma1. I was going to ask about it last night in TS. Anyway, it's not as good as the original.

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
If I saw him in real life I'd punch him in the teeth... I hate people who do this kind of stuff. I've had someone do this same thing with one of my machinimas and it made me rage.

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
You all have to remember, that is what has made OFP and ArmA such an enduring game is the ability to manipulate missions to suit your servers. With pretty much a open source ability to create missions, you will get that. But in all fairness, how many of us has open up anothers mission and taken what we liked for purposed of hosting here?!

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
I have no issue with someone taking some items from a mission "with mission makers permission" but passing off a complete replica as your own "creation", thats a little poor!

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
FYI I downloaded both missions in question, and the files didn't reveal a lot of similarities. You had used BAS-framework and he hadn't, which means Description.ext and the scripts are quite different. He doesn't have a script that allows one to set mission conditions, but he has a whole set of other scripts there. Most of briefing.htmls functions have been taken over by scripts in A2, and his briefing text in briefing.sqf is very different from yours. Date, time and weather are different too.
I didn't open the missions in an editor yet, but judging by the files I think it's safe to say that he didn't make a direct copy of yours.

Never punch the mouth, all sorts of diseases are harboured in the mouth, and if you cut your finger on their tooth it can be bad news. Safety first

Finc.....it was simply the idea....of course a lot was goig to change for A2...but the principle of the mission is the same.
As I said...not a big deal to be fair..

Re: Cheeky sod!!!!!!!!!!
Oh I understand your concern. I wouldn't have gone through the trouble of comparing them if they hadn't looked so damn similar in the first place
